The aim of the group is to go on medium length walks and hikes around London's Green Spaces and Waterways, and the surrounding countryside and costal seaside towns. We aim to find some amazing places and sights off the beaten track and end up afterwards in a great pub!
From 01/01/25 each walk costs only £5 to attend.

A walk in west/central London along the Thames Path. There is lots of water along the route!! The walk lasts for about 2.0 hours.WALK START POINT: Meet outside Parsons Green Tube Station. When you arrive at the station look for Ken with Kens Event/Meetup badge outside the station.
WALK ROUTE: A walk in west/central London along the Thames Path through Parsons Green, South Park, Chelsea Harbour and embankment, before crossing Albert Bridge and into Battersea Park before finishing at the new Battersea Park Station on the Northern Line.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 5 miles.
WALK END POINT: Battersea Park Station on the Northern Line.
WALK STOPPING OUT POINT: Many bus routes en-route.

Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. We always end the walk at a pub. Be sure to join us in the pub for the whole friendly experience!Post no pre-event messages unless you are posting something relevant for the whole group. Only post photos of other members with their consent.

This walk is suitable for the average experienced hill walker. Expect some hills. Do not attend this walk if you do not fit that description or if you have a medical condition (especially heart and/or lung conditions) that may impact upon your capability of completing the walk.
These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes and there may be low overhanging branches.
In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route.

- FOREST £5 WALK 🌳🌲🌱: AVERY HILL PARK and OXLEAS WOODnew eltham station, London
A Green Forest Walk through AVERY HILL PARK, WOOLWICH COMMON, CASTLE WOODS, JACK WOODS, OXLEAS WOODS, SHEPHERDLEAS WOODS, and WOOLWICH COMMON.
WALK START: New Eltham Railway Station. When you arrive at the start look for Ken with the Meetup/ 'KEN'S EVENTS' Flag/Sign/Badge.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6.5 miles with some gradients.
WALK ROUTE: New Eltham to Woolwich (See above for details).
WALK FINISH: Woolwich Station.
STOPOUT POINTS: We are never far from London bus routes.

- GREEN £5 WALK - HAMPSTEAD HEATH🌲🌿💧, SECRET PERGOLA, HIGHGATE WOODS🌳Golders Green station, London
GREEN £5 WALK.
ENJOY the UNDULATING HILLS and VALES, WOODLANDS LAKES and PONDS of HAMPSTEAD HEATH and HIGHGATE WOODS and visit the SPLENDID SECRET PERGOLA. Visit the very impressive Golders Hill Park, with its forgotten zoo, and manicured gardens, before heading to the SECRET PERGOLA and later, walk through Highgate Woods.All this is followed by more socialising in a pub with cheap food and drinks in a convivial atmosphere. A perfect way to spend a Saturday!
PERGOLA: Well hidden amongst the trees and constructed during the years 1904 to 1925. It is a magnificent Edwardian extravagance built as the setting for garden parties and summer evening strolls.
Overgrown with vines and flowers, Hampstead Pergola is pretty magical, in any season. However in spring, wisteria and other spring flowers curl around the trellises, making the Pergola a beautiful and popular backdrop for wedding photographs and fashion model shoots.WALK START: Meeting at Golders Green Station (Northern Line - Edgware Branch - Zone 3). Look for Ken with Kens Events/Meetup Badge.
WALK ROUTE: Our walk is through Golders Hill Park and Zoo, before heading to the SPLENDID SECRET PERGOLA. Afterwards we head across Hampstead Heath and will pass by the beautifully and recently restored KENWOOD HOUSE with its glorious views across the heath before heading through Highgate Woods to the Mossy Well pub in Muswell Hill.
WALK FINISH: Finishing at the Mossy Well pub in Muswell Hill. which is a 15 minute walk or short bus ride to East Finchley Tube Station, Highgate Tube Station or Archway Tube Station (all on the Northern Line).
WALK STOP OUT POINT: Some nearby bus routes on the perimeter of Hampstead Heath.
