Interlaken in Switzerland is simply spectacular and is so named as it is located at the intersection of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz - lets go with the flow !

Please book your accommodation for 4 nights - Saturday to Wednesday - anywhere in Interlaken.

We shall be flying by Easyjet from / to Gatwick to Zurich at these times :

Saturday 7.05am to 9.50am
Wednesday 9.05pm to 9.45pm.

We shall most likely take trains or maybe taxis between Zurich Airport and Interlaken.

Saturday late afternoon

21 bus to amazing St Beatus Waterfalls and Caves

We shall the bus at either 4.41pm or at 5.11pm from Hotel Merkur and get off by Hotel Beatus in Sundlauenen from where we shall walk at 5.30pm to St Beatus
Waterfalls and then visit St Beautus caves.
Or you could take a taxi/uber.

21 bus back to Interlaken at around 7.15pm.

Sunday

Morning : self guided optional funicular up Harder Kulm mountain then 90 mins walk down on guided paths or may simply walk a short way up and then back down again

Afternoon : Spiez circular by Lake Thun - 7 to 8 miles travelling by train

Meet Interlaken Ost train station as from 12.45pm

Train ticket : single to Spiez

Train 1.29pm from Interlaken Ost (then West) to Spiez that arrives at 1.48pm

Or you can take bus no 60 that runs once an hour from Hotel Merkur at 9.50am, 10.50am, 11.50am or at 12.50pm.

Walks starts at 2pm from Spiezer Restaurant and Lounge.

Travel back from Spiez as from 6pm.

You may wish to visit Spiez Castle in the morning.

Bring packed lunch.

Iseltwald to Giessbach Waterfalls on Lake Brienz - 5 miles involving a boat journey.

Interlaken to Ideltwald bus 103 at either 10.05am or at 10.35am
Or you can take taxi/uber.

Meet Restaurant Dorfpintli - walk commences at 11am.

At Iseltwald we shall walk 5 miles taking in the lake shore and the waterfall in Giessbach before taking the ferry to Brienz.

At Brienz you can either travel back immediately to Interlaken by bus or train or first walk around an hour around the lake to Ebligen.

Visit to Grindlewald

Outbound train at 10.04am

Meet train station as from 9.30am

Train ticket : Grindlewald return

Return at your leisure

Medium paced walk Kaiserstuhl to Lungern western side Lake Lungern - 3.75 miles travelling to and from by train

Meet Interlaken Ost train station as from 8.40am.

Outbound 9.04am to 10.10am

Inbound 11.51am to 12.54pm

Train ticket : Kaiserstuhl return

Meetup fee £40 payable in advance by bank transfer ( season ticket holders : £30 ).

Meetup fees to be paid by end of August.

You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.

Walking and hiking in the Great Outdoors presents certain low level risks and by rsvping to this trip you agree to undertake such risks.

You must stay with the group at all times during the walk as it puts too much pressure on the group if people wander off.
