Welcome to Wandering Women Who Wine – Willamette Valley!
We’re building a web of wonderful Wandering Women—one glass, one experience and one new friendship at a time.
Wandering Women is a female-forward community created a few years ago in Portland for women who love discovering new places, meeting new people and sharing memorable experiences together. You don’t need to be a wine expert, and you definitely don’t need to bring someone with you. Come as you are—solo women are always welcome here.
Here in the Willamette Valley, we’ll gather at wineries, tasting rooms and other special places throughout Oregon wine country, with an intentional focus on supporting and celebrating women-owned wineries, women winemakers, female entrepreneurs and other women doing wonderful things in wine, food and hospitality.
And we’re wandering beyond the wine glass, too! As our community grows, look for unique local experiences, special events, girlfriend getaways and female-forward travel adventures near and far.
This group is an extension of a growing Wandering Women community that also includes Wandering Women Who Wine – Portland and Wandering Women Club – Seattle. Our goal is to create chapters everywhere! Our goal is simple: bring women together. To laugh, explore, make new friends, support other women and create the kind of shared experiences we’ll be talking about long after the last glass is poured.

This isn't a community where everything has to come from one organizer. We encourage any member who has an idea for an outing, event, tasting, adventure—or simply something you'd love to do with other women—to raise your hand and become an Event Organizer.
Maybe you're new to the area, newly retired or getting ready to retire, navigating a life change, looking to expand your social circle, or simply ready to add some new people and adventures to your life—this is a wonderful place to start.
Host one event or twenty; it's completely up to you. The more women who bring their interests, ideas and favorite discoveries to the group, the richer our community becomes.
We explore together, we connect together, and we grow together.

Meet your organizer, Joan:
Hi, I’m Joan—a traveler, Tour Director, connector and experience specialist who believes the best adventures are even better when we share them.
I’ve spent years traveling the world, leading groups on adventures near and far, coordinating group travel experiences, and helping organizations build travel clubs that bring their communities together. My favorite part has always been creating the connections and little moments that turn an outing or a trip into an experience people remember.
But Wandering Women is personal for me, too. After some big life changes several years ago, Meetup helped me get out, try new things, and most importantly, find women, friendships and connection at a time when I really needed them. I know firsthand what it feels like to show up somewhere on your own—and how quickly life can expand when you find your people. I want to help create that opportunity for other women, too.
That’s what inspired Wandering Women. I love creating opportunities for women to connect—whether it’s over a glass of wine, at a local event, on a weekend getaway, or somewhere fabulous on the other side of the world.
I’m especially passionate about creating female-forward experiences that introduce us to women winemakers, chefs, artists, entrepreneurs, guides, makers and other incredible women doing interesting things in the places we explore.
My goal is simple: make it easier for women to show up solo, find their people, and have more adventures together.
