Wandering Women Who Wine-Portland

Wandering Women Who Wine is a Portland, Oregon-based community for women who love wine, travel, and genuine connection.

We get together for wine tastings, dinners, special events, local adventures, day trips, and travel experiences designed to give women more reasons to get out, explore, laugh, learn something new, and make meaningful connections along the way.

We're proudly female-forward in the experiences we choose. Whenever we can, we seek out and support women winemakers, winery owners, chefs, makers, entrepreneurs, guides, artists, and other fabulous women doing interesting things in our communities and the places we travel. Celebrating and supporting women is an important part of who we are.

And we don't stop at Oregon!
Wandering Women Who Wine is the sister group to Seattle's Wandering Women Club and our newest sister group, Wandering Women Who Wine – Willamette Valley. We encourage members to join any or all of our groups so you can discover events, trips, and adventures happening throughout our Wandering Women community.

Our web of wonderful Wandering Women is growing and we hope to have chapters everywhere!

Travel is a growing part of Wandering Women, from wine-country getaways and girlfriend adventures to fully escorted multi-day journeys farther from home. Our trips are created with the same spirit as our local events: memorable experiences, a sense of place, plenty of fun, and opportunities to connect before, during, and after we travel.

Come on your own—you won't be the only one. Whether you're joining us for a glass of wine close to home or packing your suitcase for an adventure, there's always room for another Wandering Woman.

This isn't a community where everything has to come from one organizer. We encourage any member who has an idea for an outing, event, tasting, adventure—or simply something you'd love to do with other women—to raise your hand and become an Event Organizer.
Maybe you're new to the area, newly retired or getting ready to retire, navigating a life change, looking to expand your social circle, or simply ready to add some new people and adventures to your life—this is a wonderful place to start.
Host one event or twenty; it's completely up to you. The more women who bring their interests, ideas and favorite discoveries to the group, the richer our community becomes.
We explore together, we connect together, and we grow together.

Meet Your Organizers:

Hi, I’m Joan—a traveler, Tour Director, connector and experience specialist who believes the best adventures are even better when we share them.
I’ve spent years traveling the world, leading groups on adventures near and far, coordinating group travel experiences, and helping organizations build travel clubs that bring their communities together. My favorite part has always been creating the connections and little moments that turn an outing or a trip into an experience people remember.
But Wandering Women is personal for me, too. After some big life changes several years ago, Meetup helped me get out, try new things, and most importantly, find women, friendships and connection at a time when I really needed them. I know firsthand what it feels like to show up somewhere on your own—and how quickly life can expand when you find your people. I want to help create that opportunity for other women, too.
That’s what inspired Wandering Women. I love creating opportunities for women to connect—whether it’s over a glass of wine, at a local event, on a weekend getaway, or somewhere fabulous on the other side of the world.
I’m especially passionate about creating female-forward experiences that introduce us to women winemakers, chefs, artists, entrepreneurs, guides, makers and other incredible women doing interesting things in the places we explore.
My goal is simple: make it easier for women to show up solo, find their people, and have more adventures together.
