A Wine and Learn: Wildfire and Wine Presentation at McMenamins Mission Theater

Hmmmm, what's more fun...drinking wine or learning? World Forestry Center and McMenamin's is giving us a way to do both!!
As Oregonians and Washingtonians, we've seen it happening, and we know it's "a thing" so let's meetup for an evening of insight and conversation as we dive into the complex and sensitive relationship between wildfire and wine. (Can you say new information to drop on your friends at your next get-together??)

From drifting smoke across vineyard hillsides to the delicate nuances it can leave behind, we’ll explore how Oregon’s wine industry is responding to the growing impact of wildfires on grapes, vineyards, and vintages. Learn about the science behind smoke impacts, what it means for winemakers and consumers, and how the industry is adapting through research, innovation, and resilience.

Featured speakers: Gregory Jones is Oregon Wine Board Chair and CEO of Abacela Winery, his family business in the Umpqua Valley of Oregon and Cole Cerrato is an Assistant Professor at OSU’s Department of Food Science and Technology; Researcher in OSU’s Smoke, Wine, and Grapes Analytical Chemistry Lab.

And...I learned when I was purchasing mine there is an option to purchase a ticket for pre-event wine tasting! FYI: This option is only visable AFTER you choose "buy tickets"
So...new plan! If you buy that option...it starts at 5:30, so I'll plan to arrive around 5 to line up if needed. The presentation begins in the theater at 7pm.
Of course feel free to come earlier, or later, whatever works with your schedule! Leave early, or stay after the presentation to soak in some more cool Mcmenamins vibes :)

Prices for the presentation are a sliding scale, and will be $10-$20 and the wine tasting pre event is $20. Tickets can be purchased NOW, or at the door at the event IF there are still some available. (I always plan to grab mine ahead of time).
