Let's Try Nectaris, a New Wine Bar on our Way to an 80's Dance Night in SE!

Details

Hello Wanderers!
Do you want your MTv?? Join us for this "way way waaaayy back to school night" at the SE's own Rock and Roll High School, former Washington High School, current Revolution Hall event venue in SE.
This school closed in 1981, but school's back in session, Baby, and they occasionally conjure up the 80's vibes to show it what it missed, lol!
About Revolution Hall:
"Revolution Hall is a state-of-the-art concert venue which sits at the heart of Washington High School. Founded in 1906 as Eastside High, the school was renamed in 1909 and moved to the iconic brick landmark – where it stands today. The existing building was rebuilt in 1924 after a fire destroyed the majority of the original building. The school boasts many notable alumni such as food-enthusiast / chef / author James Beard and the twice-decorated Nobel Laureate, Linus Pauling.
The school was closed in 1981 due to low enrollment. The facility was occasionally used for various purposes but remained predominantly vacant over the years. Since its purchase in 2013, the 113,000+ square foot building has been completely renovated and restored to accommodate offices, The Assembly Lounge and Marthas – our pre and post show bar and cafe, a smaller venue – Show Bar (which serves our sister venue’s famous Bar Bar Burger’) + the historic auditorium. Topping off Revolution Hall (literally) is our Roof Deck Bar, open weather permitting April thru October, offers the best 360 degree views of Portland bar-none for show goers to enjoy before, during, or after a show. Full Disclosure: We've been there but not for an event. It has been confirmed by 3 friends who attended previously, that this 80's Dance Attack Video event was super fun and totally awesome-seriously :)
Doors to the dance open at 8pm, but you could always mull about on the roof top and peep the view beforehand. We plan to begin our night with a pre-dance meet and greet at a quieter venue-Nectaris, a vegan tapas style wine bar, just a few blocks away. We'll meet there at 6pm, imbibe some liquid courage for the dancing ahead, then walk to school, and not because our parents won't let us use the car, just because it's pretty close, lol.
Here's the Nectaris about info from their website:
"Enjoy a curated selection of exceptional wines including aperitifs, digestifs, sparkling, white, rosé, red, and dessert wines along with beer, cider, and zero-proof cocktails. Pair your selection with savory and sweet snacks and shareables such as Beurre Blanc Dip, White Bean Cassoulet, Fondue for Two, Build-Your-Own Cheese & Charcuterie Boards, Grilled Cheese, Classic French Onion Soup and more—all plant-based! Whether you’re heading out for the evening or home for the night, Nectaris is waiting to welcome you with a cozy, casual vibe."
Sounds bitchin" right?? Full disclosure-I haven't been there, but I may walk on down sometime this week to check it out.

I reserved a table for 6, as that was the highest number offered, and I will be bringing my plus 1, so feel free to reserve a table, too. I'll drop the links to both venues below, and see your homework assignments below:

Tix to 80's Video Dance Attack at Revolution Hall

Homework this week:
1)Scour your closets, attics, older relative's closets, etc. or hit SE Hawthorne for some rad thrifting and put together an 80's outfit to just die for.
2)Watch every John Hughes movie you can stream, accompanied by Zimas or Wine Coolers of your choice and eating fried mozzarella sticks dipped in marinara.
3) Pick up some Loreal hair mousse and Aquanet hairspray to complete your transformation on Saturday night. A whole forearm's worth of black rubber bracelets is like totally optional :)
Oh ma god, we are gonna like totally relive those "so fun we still remember them" (or maybe most of them) 80's summer nights dancing in the clubs this Saturday! Be there or be square!
