July Bike Tour

Hello Adventure Riders,

Thank you for those who participated in the Doodle survey to pick out a date for our July bike tour.

Most of the campsites near the coast are all booked up (San Clemente, San Onofre, and San Elijo) for that weekend so I just did a Google search for possible campsite and found one called Kumeyaay Lake Campground ( http://www.mtrp.org/campground) . I did some poking around in their reservation system and saw that a lot of the sites for July 25th is open. I am going to give them a call and see if they can accommodate us.

I thought the best thing to do is to meet at Oceanside at the Amtrak/Metrolink station. Metrolink offers a $10 Weekend Day Pass (which I am planning to take advantage of). Parking is available at the train station in Oceanside if you want to drive there.

The ride will be about 48 miles one way with some climbing out of Torrey Pines and into the camping facilities. Nothing too bad as it doesn't exceed 450ft in elevation.

If anybody have any experience with this campsite, please let us know how it is.
