Mianus River Gorge

To the best of my knowledge, we are the only area group that has offered this hike for 11 plus years

Overall distance 5 to 6 miles - Note: There are some light ups and downs so I would NOT classify this as a beginner hike.

If you hiked at Ward Pound Ridge, Fahnestock, or the outer trails of Teatown, you will be fine here.

Meetup location - Entrance to the Preserve is across the street from 167 Mianus River Road, Bedford, NY 10506 -

If you are directionally challenged -please make sure you utilize MULTIPLE sources in order to ensure you are going to the correct parking lot. For whatever reason, technology has issues with this location and leaves some just up the road from the preserve at a private house - easiest way is to come in off Long Ridge road -make a left onto Mianus River Road and then the entrance to the lot will be on your left in about 2-3 minutes

We are leaving at 9:30 so please leave earlier if you require prep time or a bathroom break

Note: There is no cell reception at the parking lot so I can't help you if you are lost or are running late.

Also - I am seeing an increase in people who double book themselves for Sunday Meetup events. Please do not sign up unless you plan to attend.

Everyone starts on the Waitlist, and the first spots always go to those with a solid history of attendance -if you end up on the waitlist and others are ahead of you, it is because you have a history of either no showing or cancelling on a consistent basis at the last minute
