Introduction to Canyoneering Workshop - Free Event

Are you interested in the sport of canyoneering, but don’t know where to begin? Our Intro To Canyoneering Workshop will provide you with a basic overview of the exciting sport of technical canyoneering. In this workshop, you will learn about basic canyoneering information and techniques including:

Canyon rating system
Gear selection and maintenance
Rappelling techniques
Belaying techniques
Communication techniques
Basic knots & hitches
Anchor building & inspection
Basic rope management
Canyoneering Safety

This is the perfect opportunity to try out canyoneering and decide if it is a sport you would like to pursue.

We have gear available to loan. If you are a rock climber, mountaineer, caver, etc. and have your own gear you are welcome to bring it. Items you will need include:
Harness
Helmet
Rappel Device
Personal Anchor
Locking Carabiners
