PRIVATE BOATER RIVER AWARENESS $99:
The objective of the Private Boater River Awareness class is to educate beginner and novice river recreators and boaters, on the hazards of the river and safe recreating techniques. This class is designed to teach you, your family and friends how to enjoy our local natural waterways in a safe and fun matter. Whether you are brand-new to the river or looking for some entry level training in whitewater, this class is designed to educate you in river preparedness, safety, hazard avoidance, and self-rescue techniques.
Personal gear suggested: Throw rope
PRIVATE BOATER RIVER AWARENESS
(4hr classroom session)
Focus on general river dynamics to include hazards to avoid and reading water
Learn how to prevent river accidents and injuries
Learn key self-rescue techniques
Effective ways to swim safely in moving water
Basic knots commonly used for boating and rescue
Communication techniques on the river
Basic shore safety and hazards
Assisting rescue from your boat
Types of PFD’s and proper use
Common rescue equipment
Throw ropes
Basic river first aid

ADVANCED BOATER RIVER OPERATIONS $249
The Advanced Boater River Operations class educates those that intend to recreate in whitewater conditions on single or multiple day trips. This class builds on the Private Boater River Awareness class and educates boaters on emergency situations, boat and swimmer rescues, and boat rigging. This class emphasizes the technical aspects of whitewater boating and prepares you for the expected and unexpected.
Personal gear required: PFD designed for whitewater use, protective footwear, whistle, helmet suitable for whitewater use, protective clothing suitable for swimming in seasonal water temps.
ADVANCED BOATER RIVER OPERATIONS
(4hr classroom session on day one and 8hr field work on day two)--
(Fridays 5-9pm, Saturdays 8a-5p).
12 students max per 1 instructor
