LATE NOTICE: Perimeter-Oak Ck-Silvershield (with Dino Trackway)

Details
A hike at lower elevation and minimal lightning risk (given monsoony thunderstorms) to replace the now cancelled Highline hike. This requires a short shuttle as the starting and ending trailheads differ. Relatively late start to accommodate driving time.
This short (4.6 mile) but intense hike begins near the Ouray Hot Springs, ascends the first part of the Perimeter Trail, then continues up the Oak Creek trail, passes a nice waterfall, traverses near the Rock of Ages mine and crosses the now famous West Gold Hill Dinosaur Trackway, and descends the Silvershield trail. Side trip options include the Canyon Creek gorge & bridge, and if weather allows we'll do a side trip up to Twin Peaks.
Without Twin Peaks expect 5 miles and 2200 ft, with Twin Peaks 6.7 miles and 3875 ft. Plan on drinks and socializing afterwards.
Plan to meet at SILVERSHIELD TRAILHEAD 10 am. Will leave a car and then shuttle to start at PERIMETER TRAILHEAD. Well behaved dogs and owners welcome (leash/p-bags req'd).
Leave full name, cell, email and emergency contact upon RSVP. Questions? 970-209-2470 .
