So sorry you are qualified to join our little band of widowed folks, welcome to a group none of us wanted to be able to join. However, we are glad you found us. We are a peer lead support group and not your typical bereavement group. We find it helpful to talk and socialize with others who have been through a similar experience, to make sense of the many feelings associated with loss, share common experiences, and over time, help find a "new normal." Through participation we hope you will find support, friendship and understanding during this difficult time. We hope you will find us a welcoming group.

We post dinners and discussion groups on Meetup. Discussion groups are typically topic based, for example in the fall we discuss getting through the holidays. There is no pressure in any of our discussions (or dinners for that matter) to share or comment.

We have a membership fee of $15/year. While you should get emails announcing events as they approach (provided you have that option turned on in Meetup), check our meetup website calendar any time to see what's scheduled. Please RSVP through the Meetup website if you plan to attend an event. If your plans change please remember to change your RSVP as we often wait for those who are signed up.

Additionally, we also have a private Facebook page where we post more casual events and things related to being widowed, for example on a Saturday we went to a brewery that had a band playing outdoors. Sometimes members just post looking to meet for coffee or lunch with other members. This is a good place to express yourself and reach out to others for support.
