Wine Code Feat. Brian Poppe - Universal Customer Truths sponsored by Dynamo

We are excited to kick off our 2019 meetups with 'Universal Customer Truths' led by Brian Poppe - SVP at Mutual of Omaha. Developing a customer centered mindset is critical to the success of every tech professional (and all professionals in all industries). During this session, Brian will discuss what Universal Customer Truths mean for customer behavior, and how you can use those truths to shape a better customer experience. We look forward to seeing you. Thank you to our fantastic sponsor, Dynamo, LLC for supporting this event and thank you to the Seventyfive North team for the amazing space. About Brian Poppe, FSA, CERA, MAAA: Brian is the Senior Vice President of Departing Well Solutions at Mutual of Omaha. Departing Well Solutions is a business unit designed to serve customers who feel the responsibility to take care of their own departure, personally shouldering a burden that would otherwise fall on their families. Poppe heads up the business unit, which serves over a million customers and generates approximately $1B in revenue. Since he began as leader of Departing Well Solutions, he’s doubled the digital sales, introduced a solution with Everest Funeral Concierge to families to help them navigate planning a funeral, and led a customer-onboarding initiative. Previously, he served as VP of Innovation Strategy at Mutual of Omaha, a new role designed to harness both internal and external innovation. In this role, he was tasked with monitoring the everchanging FinTech and InsureTech landscape, identifying partnership opportunities that would align with Mutual’s strategy, and then fostering those relationships. He’s had a variety of other roles throughout his career, working as Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) at Mutual of Omaha. Notable accomplishments include leading an enterprise-wide governance, risk, and compliance software installation, developing key risk indicators to monitor the company’s risks, supporting the implementation of a company-wide model risk management program, and performing both top-down and bottom-up risk assessments. Poppe also worked in various actuarial pricing and product development roles both at Mutual of Omaha and Lincoln Financial Group. Brian received his BSBA in Actuarial Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He achieved his Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (SOA) in March 2010, attained his Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst designation in 2014, and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Brian has previously served as Chairman of the Board and President of the Nebraska Actuaries Club (NAC). Additionally, he serves on the Board of the Global Insurance Accelerator, an insurance-based start-up accelerator, and recently was given an “Early Achiever Award” by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
