What we’re about
This group will focus on trips and ticketed events, such as concerts, plays, and festivals. There are many places to explore within driving distance, and I will plan some longer trips to different parts of the country. We may even invite the men, at times!
I'm not a travel agent, so I am not planning these trips for profit, or to be like a tour group. I'm looking for travel companions who also may not have any, so we can explore the destinations together. There will be free time, and I will also ask for suggestions in advance for each trip we take, so I can plan the schedule and make restaurant reservations. This is an active group, so keep in mind that many trips will involve quite a bit of walking. I look forward to the fun times we will have together!

An Evening with Mac Arnold
Upcountry History Museum, 540 Buncombe Street 29601, Greenville, SC, USSOLD OUT
With a career beginning in the 1950s, world-renowned blues legend and South Carolina native, Dr. Mac Arnold helped create a distinctive musical movement and ultimately shape the electric blues sound that would go on to inspire rock and roll. Over the years, Arnold’s career included numerous performances with fellow musicians, such as Muddy Waters, James Brown, B.B. King, Otis Redding, John Lee Hooker, The Temptations, Eric Clapton, and Paul Butterfield.
Join Dr. Mac Arnold for a special evening of storytelling and acoustic performances as he shares memories from his life and storied career while exploring the roots and evolution of the Upcountry’s unique relationship with the Piedmont Blues.
