About us
🏔️ If you’re drawn to long mountain days, big climbs, treks that take you beyond the everyday, and adventures that leave a lasting mark, this is your group.
(See English translation below)
-------
- ascensiones a cimas

ENGLISH
🏔️ If you’re drawn to long mountain days, big climbs, treks that take you beyond the everyday, and adventures that leave a lasting mark, this is your group.
Yepalo Summits is Yepalo's space for people looking for more demanding adventures
in nature:
- hikes with significant elevation gain
- summit ascents
- multi-day treks
- other outdoor adventures that invite you to push yourself, learn, and experience the mountains more deeply
This is where we come for big views, shared effort, beautiful landscapes, and that special feeling of being truly out there, away from the noise and closer to nature.
We mainly organize challenging hikes and multi-day treks, but also some adventures such as kayak traverses, canyoning, via ferratas or climbing, depending on the plan and the destination.
Always in small groups and with qualified professional guides, because we love adventure, but we also care about doing things properly.
Not every activity is the same, but the spirit of the group is: active, rewarding and memorable adventures for people who enjoy challenge and want to share that energy with others.
## Important: the spirit of the group
Yepalo Summits was created to bring together people who enjoy the mountains when they come with a challenge: more elevation gain, long days, treks, traverses and adventures that leave you with stories worth remembering.
We want this to be an open and welcoming group, but also one that is clear about the kind of activities we share here. Most plans require good physical fitness and, depending on the activity, some previous mountain experience or confidence in this kind of terrain.
You do not need to be an expert, but it is important to join with honesty and a genuine willingness to assess whether an activity is a good fit for you.
So before signing up, we encourage you to:
- read the activity description carefully
- check the distance, elevation gain, duration and technical difficulty
- make sure you have the right level and the right equipment
And if you are not sure, ask us first. We will be happy to guide you honestly. Sometimes we will say, “yes, go for it,” and other times we may recommend starting with a different kind of activity before joining a Summit outing.
If you prefer to take things step by step, Yepalo Hiking can be a great gateway to train, gain experience and prepare for future Summit adventures.
## 💚 Our way of being in the mountains
By joining our activities, you also connect with a way of experiencing the mountains:
- Respect for the mountains and for nature
- Safety comes first: reaching the summit is a bonus
- We follow the guide’s instructions
- We start the activity together and we finish it together
- Each person is responsible for joining activities that match their level
- Each participant must bring the right equipment
- If the weather or the conditions are not right, we adapt the plan and look for a safe alternative whenever possible
## 🌈 An open, welcoming and inclusive group
We want Yepalo Summits to be a space for adventure, camaraderie and mountains, but also for respect, care and a good atmosphere.
We welcome people from different backgrounds and want to maintain an inclusive and friendly environment for everyone. Discriminatory, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or disrespectful attitudes will not be tolerated.

🔝⛰️Hike up to the top of BALANDRAU 2585m - Subimos hasta la cima - Senderismo
🔝 A beautiful high-mountain hike in the Catalan Pyrenees, reaching one of the classic summits of the Ripollès, with open ridges, alpine meadows and stunning views over the eastern Pyrenees.

Good to know
--------🥾 The Plan
We’ll head to the Ripollès for a beautiful high-mountain hike to the top of Balandrau, a 2,585 m summit located near Vall de Núria and the upper Ter and Freser valleys.
The route starts from the Collet de la Gralla area, where we’ll park directly on the dirt track, just where the hiking trail begins. The access road is an easy dirt track. From there, we’ll begin a steady ascent through open mountain terrain, gradually gaining altitude with beautiful views over the surrounding valleys and Pyrenean peaks. The landscape is wide, peaceful and very characteristic of this part of the Ripollès: grassy slopes, open ridges and that special high-mountain feeling without needing a very long approach. As we get closer to the summit, the route becomes more panoramic. Reaching the top of Balandrau is the big reward of the day: a spacious summit with incredible views over the eastern Pyrenees, the Vall de Núria area, Coma de Vaca, the Freser valley and the surrounding mountains.
After enjoying the summit, we’ll continue the circular route back towards the starting point, with time to enjoy the views, take photos and soak in the mountain atmosphere before heading back to Barcelona.
This is not a technically difficult hike in summer conditions, but it is still a high-mountain route. The terrain is open and exposed to weather, so good hiking shoes, proper clothing and a decent fitness level are required.Good to know

--------🥾 The Plan
This is one of our favourite hikes in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, and definitely one of the most complete! What we particularly love about this route is the incredible variety of landscapes we'll discover in a single day: narrow gorges, waterfalls, beautiful forests, steep mountain trails and, finally, a summit with wonderful panoramic views.
We'll start near L'Hostalet, close to Bagà, following the mountain stream towards the impressive Els Empedrats gorge.
This first part of the hike takes us through a beautiful forest, following the river, crossing it several times and passing by waterfalls and fascinating rock formations, including the Bullidor de la Llet, a natural spring emerging from a limestone wall. We'll continue climbing through the forest until we reach Refugi Sant Jordi, where we'll take a well-deserved break before the second part of our adventure.
From there, the landscape gradually changes as we climb towards Pas de la Boixassa and finally reach the summit of Cap de la Boixassa (1,820 m).
The views from the top are well worth the effort! On a clear day, we can admire Pedraforca, Serra d'Ensija, Moixeró and the surrounding mountains.
We'll then follow a different trail down towards Coll de la Pelosa, completing our circular route through forests and the beautiful Bastareny Valley, passing by the Salt de Murcurols and Adou del Bastareny.A proper mountain day, combining the beauty of rivers and forests with the satisfaction of reaching a summit. Just the kind of adventure we love at Yepalo Summit! 🏔️
