About us
Welcome to Yoga Kawa, a yoga community based in Toronto's Leaside neighbourhood for anyone who wants to move, breathe, and connect with good people.
We run regular yoga classes for every level, from gentle Hatha and restorative sound baths to stronger Vinyasa and Yogalates flows. Totally new to yoga? Our beginner-friendly classes are built for first-timers, with modifications offered throughout. Mats are always provided, so you can just show up.
We're also known across the GTA for our animal-assisted yoga: puppy yoga, kitten yoga, and more. It's exactly as fun as it sounds, and it's a great low-pressure way to meet other animal and yoga lovers.
This group is for anyone who wants to build a steadier practice, try something new, or simply find a welcoming space and a few friendly faces. Beginners, regulars, solo visitors, and friends are all welcome. Come as you are.
Join us to hear about upcoming classes, open house events, and animal yoga sessions. We'd love to move with you.

Signature Series I Hatha
Yoga Kawa, 539 A Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4S 2M5, Canada, Toronto, ON, CAYoga Kawa's Signature Series I is our modern expression of Hatha Yoga: a heart-led, breath-centered practice that harmonizes body, mind, and spirit through purposeful movement and stillness.
This class follows a set sequence uniquely designed by Yoga Kawa to help students build confidence, mobility, and awareness over time. The familiar flow lets you feel your own progress week by week, refining alignment, posture, and breath with each return to the mat.
Poses are held for several intentional breaths (about three in the 45-minute version, or five in the 60-minute version), giving you time to truly inhabit each shape and connect with your breath. The slower pacing invites you to move with curiosity rather than urgency, gently awakening strength and flexibility as the body softens into each pose.
Beyond the physical, this practice nurtures mental clarity and emotional balance. As the breath steadies, the nervous system settles, easing stress, calming the mind, and restoring a sense of inner harmony.
Every session opens with 2 minutes of breathwork and closes with 3 minutes of stillness and the resonant vibration of OM, sealing your practice with centered calm and quiet awareness.

Gentle Hatha & Mobility
Yoga Kawa, 539 A Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4S 2M5, Canada, Toronto, ON, CAGentle Yoga & Mobility is a slow, accessible practice designed to help your body move more freely while improving mobility, balance, flexibility, and everyday ease.
Each class combines gentle yoga postures with mindful mobility work, moving gradually through the spine, shoulders, hips, and joints to release stiffness and encourage comfortable range of motion. Expect slow transitions, accessible stretches, gentle strengthening, and balance work without the intensity or faster pace of a traditional flow class.
The emphasis is not on how deeply you can stretch, but on moving with awareness and developing greater ease and confidence in your body. This class is ideal for beginners, active older adults, those returning to movement, or anyone seeking a softer complement to a more active practice.
The 45-minute class provides a refreshing full-body mobility reset, while the 60-minute class offers additional time to explore movement more gradually, hold postures longer, and give greater attention to areas of tension and limited mobility.
Every session starts with 2 minutes of breathwork and concludes with 3 minutes of stillness and the resonant vibration of OM, sealing the practice with centered calm and gentle awareness.
