  • Full "Blood" Moon Lunar Eclipse 2019

Lake Russell State Wildlife Management Area

Lets ride and raise a toast under the lunar eclipse: https://www.newsweek.com/supermoon-and-total-lunar-eclipse-blood-moon-coincide-rare-celestial-event-1236930 This eclipse happens beginning at about 22:30 on Sunday, with Totality happening at about 00:30 on the Monday so this could be our 2019 inaugural night ride. you will need to plan for whatever weather and have a decent 700+ lumens light on your helmet. We will bring doughnuts and chai for a celebratory nosh. __The tentative plan__ is to reach the area earlier on Sunday, setup a fire pit and get a ride in in daylight, then hang around till the moon thing starts happening and ride up to [Brasstown Bald](https://cfaia.org/visitor-centers-gift-shops/georgia-visitor-centers-gift-shops/brasstown-bald-recreation-area-visitor-centers-in-georgia/) to catch totality. Stay-over for rustic camping is an option.

  • Taco Tuesdays at Fort Yargo!

    Senor Tequila

Our recurring Yargo rides are now on Tuesday nights! We'll gather at Senor Tequila Mexican Restaurant in Winder and be wheels up by 7PM. It's a very short urban ride to the trails from here. This is an intermediate ride at a moderate pace, always no drop. We will do a quick ride to the trail entrance at Victor Lord Park, then tackle the outer loop for a total of about 13-14 miles, and make several brief stops along the way to regroup. Be sure to bring hydration, tubes and basic tools for minor trailside repairs, and have a good light all charged up and ready (at least 500 lumens or better). We'll have an awesome ride then we’ll head into the restaurant to eat, drink, and talk bikes. :) See you there!

  • The BeltGrind

    Monday Night Garage

The BeltGrind is an annual bicycling odyssey through southern space and time: an adventurous time trial for some, a casual cycling tour of home for others. It's the first two-wheeled community race-and-ride along Atlanta's evolving former railway corridor. Start (and finish): The BeltGrind will begin and end at Monday Night Brewing's Garage on the west side of the corridor. Riders will head north or south from there—depending whether they received an odd or even number at registration. Checkpoints: Along the twenty-mile course there will be four checkpoints where competitive riders are invited to complete challenges in order to earn a badge and continue around the city. But badge-collecting is not obligatory and other riders are welcome to skip that part. Course maps will be distributed prior to the race.
