Come go with the flow on this sensational MEDIUM PACED 12 mile river walk in Essex - we shall be walking by Chelmer and Blackwater rivers, taking in stunning idyllic Nounsley, Ulting and the amazing Heybridge Basin which affords great views over Northey Island and Osea Island until we arrive and have a drink in the wonderful village of Goldhanger at the end of the walk.
Please arrive by 8.35am at Liverpool Street Station by Platform 10 to buy group train tickets for the 9.02am train to Hatfield Peverel that arrives at 9.40am.
Return train ticket to Witham.
Or you may decide to drive.
The walk shall start at 9.45am.
Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/ strong trainers.
We shall stop for lunch at Heybridge Basin.
If you wish to end the walk at lunchtime at Heybridge Basin then take 73 bus at 1.45pm to Hatfield Peverel , walk 8 mins then take the train back to London and you need change trains at Shenfield.
We shall have a drink at the end of the walk in the Chequers Inn pub in the delightful village of Goldhanger in a 500 year old pub adjacent to a beautiful church and also opposite where hangings used to take place several hundred years ago.
We shall take taxis back to Witham for the train back to London.
You should have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles an hour and be in good physical condition.
