Welcome to HOUSTON SHAMANISM
Celebrating 23 Years in the Houston Metropolitan Area
We currently maintain an advertising site on Meetup, and are a spiritual community of earth-based practitioners, and an educational organization dedicated to sharing the teachings and belief systems of ancient cultures. While the group was established as a Meetup group in 2003, it currently operates as a legal entity in Harris County, Texas under the name of HOUSTON SHAMANISM.
We meet at various locations around the Houston area. If you would like to offer a host venue for an event, please contact us with details. We are always looking to expand the practice into new areas.

Our circles are always led by qualified and knowledgeable Facilitators and Teachers.
We are not a networking, dating, entertainment, sales, or religious group.
The Houston Shamanism community meets for Traditional Trance Posture Drum Journey Ceremony at 2115 Turner Drive, Houston, Texas on the fourth Saturday of the month at 6:30 PM, in every other month of 2026 (Jan, March, May, July, September, and November) to talk, drum, and journey to do shamanic healing work together. Newcomers are always welcome to join us!
Our NEW Women's Shamanic Healing and Message Circle meets every other month in 2026 at 2115 Turner Drive, in Houston, Texas on the fourth Saturday of the month at 6:30 PM, in (February, April, June, August, October, December). All women are welcome to join us.
You will find additional gatherings and events in and around Houston Texas on this Meetup site.
We suggest you sign up to receive text messages from Houston Shamanism, as new events are added monthly, and the message feature is used to update members of changes, cancellations or reschedules.

Reverend Kimberly "Owl" is a Shamanic Healer and Appointed Lineage Carrier for Houston Shamanism. She is an Usui Reiki Master Teacher, Ordained ULC Minister, Ceremonialist, and Intuitive Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner (mixed modalities).

We welcome people from all peace-loving, spiritual paths to our group. We request everyone attending refrain from religious or political discussions during our healing circles. Let's leave division behind and create a safe, healing space for each other.We will not meet outdoors in the event of inclement weather and the event will be rescheduled. If you are subscribed to receive notifications on Meetup, you will receive prompt notifications regarding cancellations or reschedules.

HEALING CIRCLE GUIDELINES and Code of Conduct-- Please Read
* Give a healing, or get a healing. Bring your energy healing modality (review the approved healing modalities) to HOUSTON SHAMANISM's monthly outdoor energy healing circle.
* This will be a moderated healing circle and completely hands off.
* Energy healings are conducted in an open circle, in full view of everyone. No private sessions are allowed outside of the main circle.
* Energy healing sessions will begin and end at Facilitator's direction.
* Adults over 18 only. Please do not bring children to this event.
* No use of smudges, smoke, or sound instruments as this may distract other healers or participants.
* Everyone attending MUST sign the Liability Waiver on the clipboard.
* Practitioners and recipients alike will be paired one on one and are NOT allowed physical contact (not shoulders, head, knees or feet) at any time during the healing session.
* There will be at least two, 5 - 7 minute healing rounds at this first event with an orderly circle discussion after each session.
* Because this event is held outdoors, dress accordingly and prepare for weather changes. It is suggested you bring a folding chair or blanket as seating amenities are limited and seating may not be provided by your host.
* Please bring your own drink and a snack. Refreshments will not be provided. A blanket, light jacket, hat, and water bottle or closed container drink are great to have on hand. You may also bring your bike so that you may enjoy the open space's hike and bike trails amenities following the healing circle.
* We kindly request that you do not bring glass bottles or glass containers of any kind as they are prohibited in the space.
* We are an always an alcohol-free, and substance-free event.
* Do not attend if you are ill.
* We are not a networking, dating, sales, religious, business, or entertainment etc. group.
* Harassment of any group member (on site or off site), repeated disruptions during ceremonies, or willful disregard of Houston Shamanism's safety rules or local and state laws while with the HOUSTON SHAMANISM community may result in immediate suspension.
