About us
HELLO AND WELCOME TO MOVIE ROADHOUSE LONDON!
We are London's biggest movie club, bringing together movie lovers, independent filmmakers and creators who share a passion for cinema and good company.
From Hollywood blockbusters and independent films to cult classics, international cinema and film festivals, we enjoy discovering and discussing films together. We meet regularly for screenings, social gatherings and occasional film-related events. Members can share their thoughts and ratings on our Letterboxd page, while our BFI Riverfront socials offer an opportunity to catch up outside the cinema.
We encourage members to get involved in choosing future screenings through our WhatsApp and Telegram groups, which become available after attending their first meetup. We also enjoy supporting independent cinemas and regularly visit venues such as the Prince Charles Cinema and the BFI, alongside film festivals and special screenings.
Whether you're joining us for a film or simply looking to meet people who share your interests, you're always welcome at Movie Roadhouse. 🎬

👋 Hey guys! We're heading out to see Tenzing, an incredible true story based on Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary's historic climb.
The film is directed by Australian filmmaker Jennifer Peedom, who you might know from her spectacular documentary Sherpa. And, what makes this project so exciting is how it seems to handle the human element. Beyond the ice and the danger, this is a story about the ultimate test of human trust, brotherhood, and a friendship forged at 29,000 feet.
The Meetup: We'll have our usual meet and drinks at 6:30pm at the Picturehouse Central Bar on the first floor. Then after that we proceed to Kia Screen 2 where the film will be showing at 7:30 pm.
Finally at around 9:55 pm we'll get together once again to share our thoughts, discuss the film, and give it our Letterboxd scores. You’ll also find the full schedule breakdown, ticket information, map and addresses below, so you can find your way.

👋 Hey guys! This movie actually faced quite a bit of backlash from history buffs and film critics over the way it was initially rebranded and marketed in America, particularly for trying to sell it as a story about Robin Hood, when it was anything but. Hopefully they learned a valuable lesson, because you can't take that many liberties in the name of entertainment.
This gritty historical drama from legendary director Paul Greengrass and starring Andrew Garfield follows a humble labourer devastated by the Black Death and pushed to rebellion by tyrannical taxes. What follows is an uprising of 10,000 commoners marching on London to challenge the feudal system and fight for their freedom.
The Meetup: We'll be meeting for our usual drinks before the film, and then afterwards we'll get together to share our thoughts, discuss the film, and give it our Letterboxd scores.

👋 Hey everyone! We are meeting for a mesmerising performance by Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread).
The film is about a British professor Joan Andrews who witnesses a student's murder by the secret police (the "Crows") in 1981 Warsaw, under martial law. Overnight, a country turns into a prison, taxis have been replaced by tanks and citizens are treated like criminals. Joan finds herself trapped and herself becomes the target.

👋 Hi everyone! We are changing gears to something a little bit different this time, as we take a look at the latest stop-motion dark fantasy film produced by LAIKA Studios..
The film is directed by Travis Knight, written by Chris Butler, and based on the 2011 fantasy novel by Colin Meloy, lead singer of The Decemberists.. The painstaking stop-motion production is fascinating as it took over four years, using 231 puppets and 136 handcrafted sets.
The film follows teenager Prue and her classmate Curtis as they launch a rescue mission into a forbidden forest after a murder of crows abducts her infant brother. There, they discover a secret, magical world caught in a brewing war, forcing them to find extraordinary courage to survive.
The Meetup: As always, we’ll meet for drinks before the film and get acquainted. Once the credits roll, we’ll hang around to discuss the movie, share our reviews, and give it our Letterboxd score. Full timings and meetup details will be added nearer the date, so check back here for updates.
