What we're about

You can choose to describe us using any of the titles above but I'm choosing LIFESAVERS! because that's how powerful a kind and passionate group of people can be for an animal who is suffering.

We all know individuals and groups doing extraordinary things to make the lives of ALL animals better and they desperately need our help. Join other "LIFESAVERS" to share ideas and organize activities using our skills and experience to support them and raise awareness of animal issues....and have some fun doing it together!

This group will function best by having different members hosting as event organizers --please let me know if are interesting in helping organize.

Meetups will take place at a variety of locations throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties and Southern New Jersey. We will also incorporate local vegan and vegetarian-friendly restaurants as often as possible.

Humane Lobby Day in PA -State Capitol

501 N 3rd St

Thanks to the Humane Society of the United States and its Humane Lobby Days, animal lovers have a forum for making their voices heard. Held annually in each state capital, the purpose of Humane Lobby Days is to give animal advocates an opportunity to let their state legislators know that they care about animals and they’d like to have laws passed to increase protection for animals. So many people who care about animals don’t realize that they really can be a voice for the voiceless. I became an HSUS PA State Council member after meeting the PA State Director, Kristen Tullo, and instantly felt inspired by the can-do energy of our group and was excited to learn about what the Pennsylvania HSUS has been accomplishing. But more than anything, I wanted to know how I could help make a difference for animals in our state. In a political climate where it’s very easy for average American citizens to feel abandoned by the system, events like Humane Lobby Days help empower animal advocates to be part of the solution to our country’s animal welfare problems. We need to get out there, be proactive, meet other like-minded individuals, and join with them to become a voice for the voiceless. Because in the end, animals can’t speak for themselves, so it’s our job to speak for them. Please join me on April 29, 2019, to learn about lobbying and how it can play a positive role in the legislative process. We’ll be armed with talking points and literature and have the opportunity to speak with our district representatives and senators about why they should support or co-sponsor legislation. Newbie participants, such as myself, will have the chance to follow along with more experienced lobbyists, who are happy to help guide and encourage us as we embarked upon our quests. Afterwards, we’re invited to a lively lunch with some of my new friends. We have the power to make changes in our state- “We elect officials, and they work for us, and they want to know what we care about. 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. /State Capitol Harrisburg, PA /Let’s consider carpooling
