Along with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction workshops, we offer a variety of classes, workshops, and residential and daylong meditation retreat throughout the valley designed to help you reduce your stress and pain (emotional and physical), and discover your deepest self through the practice of mindfulness.
The teacher, Shell Fischer, founder of Mindful Shenandoah Valley, offers almost 30 years of extensive experience in mindfulness practice. She is a Buddhist teacher, trained in the Shambhala tradition at Naropa University - the nation's leading contemplative university - and in the Theravadan Vipassana tradition by Dr. Tara Brach, one of the world's leading Insight teachers. . She's also an MBSR instructor trained by MBSR’s founder, Jon-Kabat Zinn. Prior to teaching, Shell wroteabout mindfulness and yoga for national magazines.
