The night of the event each presenter will have 5 minutes to describe their patch. They will make sound and talk in-place from their rigs and use a laser pointer (provided) to point to elements on the big screen. There will be a timer running on the big screen and I'll be enforcing the time strictly to make sure everyone gets the same amount of time. If they finish early they can take questions up to the 5 minute mark. If fewer than 10 sign up, we'll extend the time for each presenter
Think petting zoo - but with a more structured and educational approach. If you are into modular synths, this should prove educational and inspiring. If you're not into modular synths (yet) this should be sonically interesting and fast paced.
Musical Performance will be by the Carbon Dioxide Ensemble with members Victoria Lundy (Theremin), Tom Lundy (Copper Heart with Dry Ice), and Mark Mosher Live Sampling of Copper Heart with Ocatrack.
Prepare a modular patch prior to the event. 3 days prior to the vent, send me up to 5 photos or screen shots of your patch which I will projected on the big screen night of the event. Bring you modular synth. Provide 1/4" stereo outs which will patch into a sub-mixer that runs to the PA. You'll get a mic, a laser pointer, and 5 minutes to talk about your patch. During mingling time, hang out and show people your patches and rigs.
Everyone Bring Headphones:
After the lightning rounds, there will be time during the 'Mingling' section of the night to visit with the presenters and ask more questions and check out their rigs.
