CNC Router Basics and Certification @ Ace Makerspace

Explore the key principles of safe CNC Router operation in the Ace Shop. Learn about how the CNC works, changing bits, safe materials for cutting, securing your project, and best practices. Students will leave with the information they need to operate the machine and pass the certification knowledge check.
This course is only intended to cover the safe physical operation of the CNC router. Students will need to learn the necessary CAM software independently or during a separate course: Intro to Fusion 360.

Location: Classroom portion in suite 206 (Coworking/Textiles) or 214 (Clean Fabrication)
Prerequisites: Ace Shop Basics
Certification: CNC Router Certification (Level 1)

What to bring: A notebook or well-charged phone for taking notes.
What to wear: Closed-toe shoes, short sleeves, and work clothes. Long hair must be tied back.
Safety Gear: Eye protection, and ear protection, and hand sanitizer will be provided.
This class requires a minimum of 3 students per session. If there are not enough students, we can issue a refund, otherwise refunds are not allowed.
