Get out and ride! This is a group for anyone in Arvada, CO or nearby areas to meet up for bike rides around the area. Arvada is a great place to ride, with tons of trails, parks, bike lanes, and great weather. Riding is a great way to explore new areas of the city or get to know your own neighborhood. We have experienced riders to lead rides for all ability levels, including recreational rides (12-16 miles at an exercise pace) as well as shorter and slower kid-friendly rides (3-5 miles at a conversational pace).

BFA 1 Coffee Ride 05-04-24
Our first ride of the season. If you come early you can enjoy a FREE cup of coffee, any kind, any size, at the Red Silo, 6590 Holman Street, before the 10am ride, just tell them you’re with Bike Friendly Arvada. Easy 12 mile route for this first ride, hidden gems, unknown trails, secret places. If you want, you can stay for coffee after the ride.All riders are required to wear a helmet, follow bike safety and traffic laws, and sign a waiver. Our ride leaders will give a briefing 5 minutes before the ride begins and outline the route and other specifics for the day. So try to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride begins to give yourself enough time to get ready.
What to bring:
• Your bike (in good working condition)
• Water (preferably a water bottle or camelback)
• Your helmet
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses (recommended to keep bugs and sunlight out of your eyes)
• Weather appropriate clothing

Bicycle Friendly Arvada (BFA) is proud to lead fun, organized bike rides all around the city from May into October each year. These rides are geared for cyclists of all levels with a focus on children, families and casual/recreational riders.
In 2024 we will be offering two different ride types for different types of riders:
• Family Ride of approximately 4-7 miles traveling mostly on trails
• Rec Ride of approximately 12-25 miles on a mix of trails and on street bike facilities
We will also have a bike corral at several Arvada Festivals.Our 2024 ride schedule can be found HERE

BFA 3 Trails Day Rec Ride 06-01-24
The Rec Ride will leave from Majestic View Park, W72nd Ave just west of Carr, at 9am. The ride will be mostly on W 80th Ave out to near the reservoir and return via Ralston Creek Trail to miss the still ongoing 72nd Ave construction project.All riders are required to wear a helmet, follow bike safety and traffic laws, and sign a waiver. Our ride leaders will give a briefing 5 minutes before the ride begins and outline the route and other specifics for the day. So try to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride begins to give yourself enough time to get ready.
We will follow Jefferson County Covid protocols.

A new ride this year, it will leave from Meiklejohn Elementary School parking lot, 13405 W 83rd Place, at 9am and ride past Rose Roots Community Garden then then head to Ralston Creek Trail and then to Clear Creek Trail and then head back up Little Dry Creek Trail to the start. It will be downhill and then uphill for 21 miles and a 500 foot elevation change.Route Map
