Mount Falcon Park is a short drive out of town, offering scenic views of Downtown Denver and Mount Evans. The trail we'll be following includes an old renovated cabin, a lookout tower, the ruins of John Brisben Walker's "castle" (burned down in 1918), and the foundation and cornerstone for what Mr. Walker wanted to be the Summer White House for the President of the United States.
We will be meeting at the upper parking lot on the west trailhead for the park. Go north on the Parmalee Gulch Rd/Indian Hills exit from Hwy 285. Follow the signs to the parking lot for Mt Falcon Park. A head's up, there is a parking lot on the east side at the base of Mt Flacon off Morrison Road. We are not meeting there.
We'll take this hike a bit slower than some others to take in the view at various points of interest.
