What we’re about

Make this the year that you get that epic photo of the full moon rising over a Martello Tower!

Have you noticed Jupiter sparkling in the night sky lately? Have you strolled through a park at sundown and noticed six kitted-out photographers snapping away at a pink crescent moon? Are you unsure of where to stand to catch the sun rising exactly between the Poolbeg Stacks? These are lovely photos to have, but getting them requires a bit of planning and some basic techniques. Come join some helpful amateur photographers to learn a bit more about the "dark art" of photographing the moon, planets, and constellations.

We'll meet two or three times each season, often when the full moon will be rising or setting behind a local Dublin landmark. I've got extra kit and plenty of advice, but you're welcome to come along whatever your skill level. Smartphone cameras are welcome, although you'll likely get better results with a camera that has manual controls and a telephoto lens.

Everyone is welcome. We will do our very best to make events accessible to people who may have mobility or transportation issues.
