Volleyball Training and Games - Beginner/Intermediate (NMCC)
Welcome to Melbourne Volleyball Academy! ๐ค
**[[WHAT]]**
This session will be broken into 2 halves, 1st half is training and the 2nd half is games. Please arrive on time as we start exactly at 6 PM.
**[[WHO]]**
The training is intended for social volleyball players at the beginner or intermediate level.
If you are an 'advanced' player and would like to work on fundamentals, you are more than welcome to join. We also have training and game sessions at our Pascoe Vale location on Friday evenings.
**[[HOW MUCH]]**
$24 card payment will be processed on the day via square reader (EFTPOS).
**[[WHEN]]**
The stadium is booked for 6 PM-9 PM.
However, feel free to come early and stretch as the Community Centre is open earlier.
All players are expected to update their RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if they are unable to attend.
**[[THINGS TO BRING]]**
We ask that you bring:
* Water bottle
* Appropriate footwear for indoor court shoes - netball shoes, volleyball shoes, or basketball shoes would be suitable.
* Wear contacts or sports glasses if possible.

Only those on the โgoingโ list are permitted to play. If you are on the waitlist, or not registered at all, you will not be permitted to play.
North Fitzroy Menโs walk and talk group
Damian Clark facilitates a โNorth Fitzroy Menโs walk and talk groupโ for men in the inner city and northern suburbs interested in connecting with other men to develop meaningful and supportive connections, with the added health benefits of a walk in nature.
The walks are supported by Holden Street Neighbourhood House - contact (03) 9489 9929 or admin@holdenstreet.org.au for queries.
The walks are run FREE of charge on the 1st Saturday of each of month at 8.am.
The walk will commence at the Holden Street Neighbourhood House then proceed to take in Park Street and Rushall Reserves in Fitzroy North.
The group is for men of all ages.

This group is suitable for intermediate/advanced type player - who want to play singles matches.
You need to be able to play a high level of tennis to participate.
This group is not suitable for a beginner-type player.

Jugger is an exciting, mixed-gender soft combat sport. Two teams use a selection of padded foam spars to tag opponents as they aim to put the jugg (the game ball) into their opponent's goal.

Jugger Melbourne training sessions include both full games of jugger, as well as a variety of training drills designed to promote **teamwork, communication, exercise, health and fitness, and teach core game skills.**
After training we head across to Glenferrie Rd for lunch and socializing, which you are welcome (and encouraged!) to join.
**โ๐โโ๏ธโโก๏ธ New Player Info / Who Can Join**
New players are always welcome! Our experienced coaches will teach you basics to get you and and swinging in no time Jugger is easy to pickup the basics while deep to master.
We have a minimum age policy of 16 years (please note, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian), but other than that we welcome anyone of all fitness levels. Jugger is a great way to keep active, and a fun way to meet new people in a friendly and inclusive community!
**๐ How to Join a Session and What to Bring**
Joining is simple - just show up! RSVPing on Meetup or Discord is a big help as it helps us plan around expected numbers. You are also welcome to bring along any interested friends and family.
**โ๏ธ Jugger equipment is supplied.** We have a collection of gear to loan out to new players.
Bring a water bottle (there is a tap nearby), sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for running around in - and that you don't mind getting a bit dirty!
Recommend but not required items include: sunglasses, football boots, kneepads, and gloves if you have them. You don't need any of these to get started, but you may find you want them if you become a regular.

Are there any costs are involved?**
Our training sessions are **free to attend** as often as you like, we are essentially just a group of friends that meet for training and socializing on the weekend.
The Australian Jugger League has a voluntary annual membership that helps to support the sport (including maintaining equipment and paying for Meetup), and we encourage people to join once they become a regular attendee or begin attending tournaments. However there's no obligation so spend any money when you're first trying it out or just attending casually.

This is a social pace ride that we did last in May '25.
I have modified the route a little from last time which you may notice if you came then.
We take a variety of paths and bike lanes to arrive in Sunshine from the north where we'll find another "Cow" sculpture by the same artist ๐ as in Docklands.
We'll return a shorter & faster way on Sunshine Rail Trail and Dixon Veloway.
Coffee stop in Sunshine: The shops are mostly Vietnamese out there so take the chance to try something different, perhaps? They do make a good cappuccino coffee as I found in my recce ride โ

An afternoon at Urban Climb, Blackburn!
If you haven't been to this gym before, you will need to do an induction.
This gym also has a bouldering area.
We typically start with a warm-up session from 2:00 to 2:30 PM before moving on to top-rope or lead climbing - through youโre welcome to start top-rope or lead as you prefer. If youโre looking for the host, they will be in bouldering area during the warmup. You can also spot the host on climbing wall, easily recognizable by a dangling ducks hanging from their harness.

Almost all of the instructors have been in everything from street fights to the ring and some still compete in cage fighting. \
If you want to take your skills up, improve your confidence, gain self defense skills, get in better shape, test yourself or just want to kill some time and possibly get hit a bit come on down. \

Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
This is a free, in person meeting.
Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to โpin the blameโ on someone or something. If you donโt find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, donโt know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe youโve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation.
