You’ll be welcomed at 19:15 by your It’s a Date host, who will show you where to leave your jacket and introduce you to the rest of the group. From there, you’ll enjoy three 125ml servings of hand-selected wines — typically a red, a white, and either a rosé or sparkling option. Pairing notes will be provided to give insight into each wine’s origins, add context to the flavours, and offer easy conversational cues as we explore the wines (and each other) throughout the evening. This is the 50th Anniversary of the Judgment of Paris. Significantly, in 1976, California wines unexpectedly outperformed French wines in a blind tasting with nine French judges, challenging the perception that only French wines were of the highest quality. This event helped elevate the status of California wines on the global stage and is considered a pivotal moment in wine history. House Wine, in Worthington, modestly, recreates that moment in history with a tasting both American and French wines in a fun, casual atmosphere.
