A description of the route is below for your information. Before the run, we take a group photo and after we drink and/or eat at the bar (not mandatory). We will chat a bit before starting to run. The distance is about 10 kilometers (\~6 miles). However, there are plenty of opportunities to turn back before and sometimes people run a shorter distance. Each person runs at her/his own pace. Most of the time people are talking/chatting so it's honestly a casual run. Mini groups tend to form according to pace. Please note people run at their own risk and please if you have any medical condition make sure you let someone know and be sensible, run within your abilities. We then take a right to exit the park and immediately take a left to run alongside the round wall of the zoo (Passeig de Cicumvallacio). We then turn right at Carrer de Ramon Trias Fargas and head towards the beach. We then take a left turn and run along the beach heading northeast. Along the coast, we cross the Passeig Maritim de la Mar Bella for a quick stop at the water fountain and then turn back. The main change on the way back is that we turn right at the tram station along the other wall of the zoo (continuation of Carrer de Wellington) and once we reach the end of the wall, we are back to Passeig Pujades where we end our run.

A proper birding adventure to one of Barcelona's most special wetland reserves. On April 25th, we're heading south — to the Espai Natural del Remolar · Filipines in Viladecans, a quiet coastal wetland at the mouth of the Llobregat river and one of the most important bird habitats in the region. Think marshes, pine forest, beach, and a whole lot of birds. We will be walking — a lot. April is a wonderful time — migration is well underway. El **mítico Rec Comtal**, la acequia que desde época romana ha llevado el agua hasta Barcelona, tiene un punto de **origen escondido y poco conocido cerca de Montcada i Reixac.** Entre los últimos **campos de cultivo de Barcelona** (finca la Ponderosa) y el barrio de Vallbona, el más alejado del centro de la ciudad, se esconden algunos rincones verdes donde la **acequia todavía discurre al aire libre llena de agua fresca y limpia.** Os proponemos pues, una ruta guiada en la que recorreremos el tramo inicial y mejor consevado del Rec Comtal, para conocer este reducto natural de Barcelona y su historia. También **pasaremos por los barrios de Vallbona y Ciutat Meridiana**, lugares que como decía el escritor Paco Candel, forman esas zonas donde la ciudad cambia su nombre. Como siempre, todas nuestras rutas **cuentan con las explicaciones de un guía licenciado en Historia por la UB**. Éste es nuestro **PLAN:** 1. Encuentro en la salida del Metro de Ciutat Meridiana (L11). Recordad que para enlazar con la L11 tenéis que llegar a Trinitat Nova con la L3 o L4. Calculad bien el tiempo de desplazamiento para ser puntuales. 2. Iniciamos ruta por las calles de Ciutat Meridiana y Vallbona, los barrios más alejados del centro de Barcelona. 3. Seguimos la caminata por el sendero paralelo al Rec Comtal, cerca del río Besós, el parque fluvial y los huertos de la Ponderosa. 4. Visita exterior de la Casa de les Aigües y el Reixagó, punto de nacimiento del Rec Comtal. Explicaciones históricas. 5. Acabamos en el casco antiguo de Montcada i Reixac, hablando de su pasado modernista y de veraneo. 6. Regreso en Rodalies a Barcelona ¡Anímate! **Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!** **We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. if you’re **tired of doing the same boring thing** every weekend, this is your excuse to **do something different.** This is **not just a comedy show.** It’s a full **Saturday night experience** at Shadybowl Speedway — a **BYOB** potluck cookout, **live racing,** a late-night **bonfire**, open mic **comedy under the stars**, and **free camping** if you want to stay the night. We’re basically **throwing a party in the middle of nowhere** — about an hour west of Columbus and an hour north of Dayton ### The experience **Start early with the cookout** Come out around **4:00 PM** for a potluck-style cookout. Bring something to share, hang out, have a few drinks, and meet people before the night gets rolling. **Then head into the races** Racing starts around **7:00–8:00 PM** at Shadybowl. **Bring a chair** and sit with us in **Turn 4** — best seats in the house. **in front of concrete spots** 58,59 **ask for Chance** Think **racing isn’t your thing?** That’s fine. **Bring something to drink** and come for the atmosphere, the noise, and **the wrecks.** **Then the real vibe kicks in** Once the races wind down, we head back to the fire for **Late Night Bonfire Comedy** starting around **11:30 PM**. This is open mic style, so you might catch comics traveling through, a local favorite, somebody trying stand-up for the first time. Either way, **you’re getting laughs around a bonfire** with drinks, good people, and nowhere else to be. **Stay the night if you want** No rush.
