Female-only Lesbian Meet & Mingle
**One quick note on how the community works**
**L Community is member-funded.**
The standard contribution is **£13 per month** to cover the platform, events, moderation, and safeguarding.
If £13 isn’t workable for you right now, you can opt out for now.
Support can be changed or cancelled at any time.

**What this is**
A relaxed weekly night for drinks, conversation, and meeting other lesbian and bisexual women in real life.
Women usually range from their 20s through to their 60s. Most weeks it’s a genuine mix of new faces and returning women, so you won’t be the only person arriving for the first time.
Most people come on their own. That’s normal here, and we make sure you don’t feel it. Hosts introduce people, keep things flowing, and make it easy to settle in without pressure.
There’s no requirement to drink, talk constantly, or impress anyone. You can arrive quietly, chat a bit, sit back, or leave early. All of that is fine.
If you’re feeling nervous, you won’t be the only one. Many women feel that way before their first event and end up staying longer than they expected.
**Important**
This is a **female-only lesbian space**.
That boundary is clear and upheld at events.
If that doesn’t work for you, this won’t be the right event.
**How to attend**
You must register in advance to attend.
Register here: [www.thelcommunity.com/meet-mingle/](https://thelcommunity.com/meet-mingle/)
**Arriving and support**
Table booking is under the name **Jenny**.
If you’re nervous, arriving alone, can’t find us, or have any difficulty at all, you can message at any point — days before, on the day, or during the event. If it helps, we can have someone come outside to meet you.
**WhatsApp Jenny**
WhatsApp only (calls or messages): **+44 7591 386019**
Normal calls or texts will not go through on this number.
**Staying connected**
Registering for an event is separate from joining the wider community.
If you’d like to stay connected between events, access the private WhatsApp group, and join the wider network, you can register here:

The Mayfair Galleries: 5 galleries including at David Zwirner and Pace Gallery
It's been a long while since our last Contemporary Art London event, but I'm really excited to announce our next outing into the gallery scene. We'll be returning to our regular route, visiting five of the big-brand galleries you'll find around Mayfair. And there's a lot to see!
**1. [Flavin, Judd, McCracken, Ryman, Sandback at David Zwirner](https://www.davidzwirner.com/exhibitions/2026/flavin-judd-mccracken-ryman-sandback)**
Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, John McCracken, Robert Ryman, and Fred Sandback were at the avant-garde of American art during the 1960s and 1970s, the show bringing together a selection of sculptures, paintings and prints that radically reconfigured the possibilities of abstraction, focusing in particular on these artists’ considered use of colour in their pursuit of a non-representational form of expression.
**2. [Thomas Scheibitz at Sprueth Magers](https://spruethmagers.com/artists/thomas-scheibitz/)**
Scheibitz is among the most important German painters and sculptors of his generation. Since the early 1990s, he has developed a kind of conceptual painting and sculpture that draws upon art-historical references, and at the heart of the Berlin-based artist’s work is a search for a new relationship between figuration and abstraction.
**3. [Alyina Zaidi at Pillar Corrias](https://www.pilarcorrias.com/exhibitions/518-alyina-zaidi-rewilding/)**
Rewilding is a solo exhibition of new paintings by Alyina Zaidi. The exhibition continues the artist’s practice of world-making, envisioning surreal, imagined topographies shaped by memory and myth.
**4. [Tetsumi Kudo at Hauser & Wirth](https://www.hauserwirth.com/hauser-wirth-exhibitions/tetsumi-kudo/)**
In a wide-ranging practice spanning four decades, post-war Japanese artist Tetsumi Kudo explored the implications of what would later be termed the Anthropocene in prescient work that interrogated the proliferation of mass consumption, the rise of technology and environmental degradation.
**5. [Loie Hollowell at Pace Gallery](https://www.pacegallery.com/exhibitions/loie-hollowell-overview-effect-london/)**
Overview Effect, the artist’s first presentation in the UK since 2018, will feature new paintings from her series of the same name, which uses abstraction to capture the sensations of contractions during childbirth.
I hope that sounds like a good round up, and I can't wait to see you! More details below:

Réfléchi, saisissant et nécessaire. Un livre sur une artiste qui devient une œuvre d’art en soi, et qui attire l’attention sur la persistance de l’altérité et de l’exclusion dans lesquelles évoluent les femmes artistes.

LondonJamSessions x TAM MIC DROP (20 Second Chain) #35
I am proud to announce that we having our jam at the Temple Of Art & Music in Elephant & Castle!!
20 Second Chain:
A structured improvisation format where a musical “chain” unfolds organically, with each player responding to and building on what came before.
Lineup (on stage together):
- 2 guitarists
- 1 bass
- 1 drummer
- 1–2 singers
- 1 additional instrument (sax, trumpet, percussion, etc.)
How It Works:
1. All musicians on stage are assigned a number, which determines the playing order.
2. Playing order, a key (and available chords) is written on a whiteboard opposite the stage.
3. Number 1 begins alone with a simple idea for 20 seconds — leave space for others to build.
4. Every 20 seconds, the next numbered musician joins one at a time, layering something that complements what’s already happening.
5. Once everyone has entered and the full band is playing, the group improvises for 5 minutes, developing the groove — complexity and solos can grow naturally.
6. No on-stage planning — listen and respond in real time.
7. After the timer ends, the group rotates and a new chain begins.
The Temple Of Art and Music is a live music venue and bar in Elephant & Castle so I encourage anyone attending to bring friends as it will be great fun for them even if they are not playing.
The venue has a PA system, drum kit, mics and guitar/bass amps.
There is no guarantee that there will be cymbals or drum accessories with the drum kit at the venue. Drummers please being your own if you can.
Like all our other jams it will be a chance to jam with other musicians playing the music that you love in a gentle environment with no judgement and no pressure. This jam also uniquely gives the opportunity to play in front of a crowd!
Tickets are **£10 online** message us let us know what instrument you play and we will confirm if there is space and send you the Eventbrite link for the jam.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about this jam and London Jam Sessions.
At London Jam Sessions we have an active community on WhatsApp where we all discuss the upcoming jams and future events. Everyone in the community is encouraged to ask questions and bring forward new ideas. Dm me and I can add you to our Whatsapp group.

Dinner & a Movie: MICHAEL at Cinemark Stoneridge!
Join us for a fun Dinner & a Movie event as we get together to see MICHAEL + Dinner at CAP City! The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Jaafar Jackson (Michael Jackson’s nephew) as the King of Pop! Early buzz is strong for what should be an excellent musical-biopic! Here are details, a trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: This biographical musical drama follows the life of Michael Jackson, from his time with the Jackson 5 to his early solo career! Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. Jaafar Jackson (Michael Jackson’s nephew) stars in the title role alongside Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo.
TRAILER: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbtgEE6rkxw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbtgEE6rkxw)
MOVIE PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 3:35pm showing and meet inside the theater lobby between 3:10 and 3:20pm. Tickets already on sale and advance purchase as soon as possible is advised! Once you have yours, please list your seat number in the Comments section of this event!
DINNER PLAN: Dinner immediately following the movie (around 6pm) at nearby CAP City Fine Diner! Seating is limited for the dinner portion of this event, so separate RSVP required. If you plan to join for Dinner AND the movie, please be sure to RSVP in both places.
CAP CITY FINE DINER: This upscale diner from Cameron Mitchell is known its “retro-cool” atmosphere, modern twists on classic comfort food and their “showstopper” desserts! The menu reimagines nostalgic dishes like meatloaf, beef stroganoff, and pot roast with gourmet twists. The menu also offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options with lots of apps, cocktails, salads, sandwiches, burgers (including a black bean veggie burger), the most welcome return of their Veggie Plate (with Hummus) and more. Desserts include their 24K Carrot Cake, Coconut Cake and Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pie.
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1
week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to all of YOU for volunteering at this (and any of our previous) CMG Gives Back events!
Should be a good/fun/meaningful time together, Dan
