Details
**PLEASE NOTE** to actually walk on the island, each person must purchase a ticket ahead of time ($40). We as a group are NOT going to do this but if you would like to do this on your own, you are welcome to.

Group Paddle:
We will meet at Foundry Dock Park in Cold Spring, NY (a 20 min. drive from the campsite) at 11am. There are kayak/SUP rentals available here from Hudson River Expeditions (https://www.hudsonriverexpeditions.com). The dock is free to use and has a parking lot.
If you are going to rent, it is your responsibility to contact the rental place to find out when they open, the price, and how to get the rental to meet us on the water
Rental info: Rent from the Cold Spring location and plan for 4 hours, you'll have to make sure you're there before 11 to get your rental as we'll start paddling at 11
From Foundry Dock, it will take over an hour (3 miles upriver) to paddle to Bannerman Island. The dock is on the same side as the island, so it will not be necessary to cross the river or stray too far from the shore. However, we ONLY advise those to join who have paddled before - it will be a long trip and there will be nowhere to dock between the starting point and the island.
For those who want a longer paddle after we paddle around the Banner Castle Island, we will continue upriver - we have two potential goals, which one we go for will depend on how the paddle is going. Goal 1 is about 2 miles past Bannerman at the Scenic Hudson River Long Dock Park. Goal 2 is Dennings Point only a mile past Bannerman. If the current and/or wind isn't too strong we'll aim for the Long Dock Park, but if getting to Bannerman was tough, then we may just go for Dennings Point.
The nice thing is that we can just float back to the starting point if we get tired so, even if the paddle out is tough, it shouldn't be hard to get back.
For those that want to make a weekend out of it, and I don't recommend this as a day trip, we have camping reservations at Croton Point Park...you can RSVP here: https://www.meetup.com/its-better-outdoors/events/291794630/
