...and we invite you to join us! Everyone is always welcome.
Jakarta Friends is the community to meet new people while doing unique activities in Jakarta. We play board games, talk business, socialize, eat and drink together, do language exchanges, explore the city by walking and culinary tours, and much more! It's all about authentic connections in an uncomplicated and informal setting.

Together, we are creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome. This group is a convergence of people and cultures.
Over the past 1,5 year, we have had more than 150 events with over 1,500 attendees. Everyone should always feel welcome to join disregarding from their ethnicity, nationality, religion, creed, age, language skills, gender identification, sexual orientation, background, ability, income, social status, or any other arbitrary trait.
From September 2024, we have a yearly membership fee to join our events. The membership fee is not expensive and gives access to all events + exclusive perks! There's so much more value to members than having an event fee. We guarantee keep organising plenty of events and the fee is refundable if the group closes down or if there are no events for more than three months. You can attend the first event for free and take a look!

ABOUT THE EVENT
Let's have dinner together at Lawless Burger in Menteng. They have burgers, hotdogs, fries, nachos, beers, milkshakes.Friday night is the time to chill. What better way than sitting together and making new friends in a friendly, informal setting? After burgers, we can walk and continue our evening at one of the many places nearby. We will choose together where to go depending on our mood.
Newcomers are particularly welcome! Come alone or with a friend or partner. There won't be a shared bill. Everyone will pay for what they consume.

ABOUT THE VENUE
Lawless is a very decent joint and there will be tables reserved for us. The price range for a burger and drink is about 100 IDR and up.- Let's meet directly at Lewless Menteng. There are tables reserved for us on the first floor (non-smoking area)
- Don't arrive earlier as the event starts at 8 PM
- Feel free to arrive later. The last order is at 10:30 PM. You can also join us after dinner if you prefer
- After burgers, we can go have a drink nearby. Text in the comment section if you want to find us later during the evening
- We encourage you to reach the event by public transportation. MRT stop Bundaran HI is about 10 minutes walking distance
HOW TO REGISTER TO THE EVENT?
To register, just click “Attend”! There are a few simple rules- We kindly ask attendees who cannot manage to join to update RSVP at least 24 h before the event as a courtesy to other attendees and event organisers.
- People on the waitlist cannot attend, and are encouraged to check a few hours before the event if they got a spot
- Repeated no-show (3X) without updating RSVP will be removed from the group.
- Attendees who bring a +1 are resnposible to make sure that the guest understands and agrees to our rules of respect and inclusivity.

WE HAVE A MEMBERSHIP FEE. HOW DOES IT WORK?
Since September 2024, our community has a membership fee of 300k IDR valid for 365 days after payment. Membership fee is offered with a promo discount to first-timers, who can become members for 220k IDR/year. First-timers can decide to attend one event for free and see if they like becoming part of this community. Membership to both Jakarta Friends and Jakarta Creatives is offered for only 390k IDR/year.Membership gives access to all events plus exclusive perks available only to paying members, like for example our Giveaway Birthday Celebrations with a lucky draw (the last one held on 15 September: https://www.meetup.com/jakarta-friends/events/300470498). To many events, attendees can bring a +1 for free.
Having a membership fee giving access to all events provides much more value to members than having a ticket fee for single events! We guarantee to keep organising plenty of events. You will receive a full refund if the group closes down, or if there’s no event happening in three months.

Do names like Madja, KulturAle, Island of Imagination, Kura Kura, Tall Tales, Beer Belly, or Coffeebeerian ring a bell?If they don't, then this event is exactly for you... to discover something new! This is the DREAM EVENT for all beer lovers in Jakarta. Come to this discovery tour and meet locals and expats who share the passion for beer.
We will visit two unique beer bars in Jakarta (Beer Belly and Coffeebeerian) and try different beers. The event starts at 8 pm but feel free to join later.

We will meet at Beer Belly (https://www.instagram.com/beerbelly.id) in Senopati at 8 pm and start our evening there. They have some food and snacks, and are usually Ok with guests having food delivered with Gofood.Beer Belly is a new bar with very affordable beer on the bottle, can and tap, both local and imported. They also have refreshing, homemade coconut water on the menu.
After Beer Belly we will head to Coffeebeerian (https://www.instagram.com/cobejkt) which is just 5 minutes walking distance, and end our evening there. Coffeebeerian is the oldest craft beer bar in Jakarta. They have tasty food and a fantastic selection of tap (plus bottle/can) beers. It's spacious and lively on a Friday night.

Calling out for all board gamers to play together!The idea is very simple: We meet and we play board games! All levels of experience playing board games are welcome. Feel free to bring your own games, if you want to. Newcomers are very welcome.
This event will be at Muyen Coffee and Roastery Tebet. Just pay for your own food and drink. (We will ask for a split bill)
The host is an experienced board gamer and has many options ready for you to play with!
