Jakarta Friends

The week is over! Time to chill and meet new and old Jakarta Friends.

Let's have dinner together at LAWLESS Burger in MENTENG. They have burgers, hotdogs, fries, nachos, beers, milkshakes.

It's a very decent joint and there will be tables reserved for us. Just order and pay your food at the counter and come sit down together. Price range for a burger and drink is about 100 IDR and up.

We will be able to reserve tables in the non-smoking section of the place (ground floor). There should have enough parking spots there but please check with the venue if in doubt. I encourage everyone to use public transportation to join us (MRT Bundaran HI is just around the corner!).

After dinner we can walk and continue our evening at on one of the many nice places close by, like Melly's Garden or Camden Bar. We will decide together where to go. You can join after 8 pm too. Just make sure you come before 9.30ish if you want to eat as the place closes at 10 pm.

This is for all (craft) beer lovers out there! This MeetUp event will be an exploration of the Craft Beer scene in Jakarta.

Do names like Madja, KulturAle, Island of Imagination, Kura Kura, Tall Tales, Beer Belly, or Coffeebeerian ring a bell?

If yes, come and share your knowedge or passion for beer with everyone. If not, come to this discovery tour and meet fellow expats and locals who share the passion for local craft beer.

We will meet at Beer Belly in Senopati at 8 pm and start our evening there. They have some food and snacks, and are usually Ok with guests having food delivered with Gofood.

Beer Belly is a new-ish, chill place and they have very affordable beer on the bottle/can, both local and imported, including non-craft beer. They also have an own coconut water which is great and refreshing.

After Beer Belly we will head to Coffeebeerian (just 5 minutes walking distance) to finish our evening. Coffeebeerian is the oldest (I believe) craft beer bar in Jakarta. They have food and a selection of tap (and bottle/can) beers. It's pretty spacious and lively on a Friday night.

This event is totally for free. Just pay what you order (we won't have a joint bill). You do not have to drink beer, of course: you can also join us just for the company and drink whatever else you prefer.

Let's enjoy the start of the weekend with a KARAOKE NIGHT.

Let's meet at Pos Bloc and enjoy their Karaoke Ubeatz. It's a Karaoke with small cozy cabins and food options. Prices are very reasonable. The more we are, the less it will cost!

There is two Karaoke Ubeatz in Pos Bloc. Find the one at the top of narrow stairs at the internal court just at the right side of the main entrance. In case of doubt, just write in the chat!

This is a joint event of Jakarta Creatives & Jakarta Friends! Let's get together and enjoy some social time with friends. Newcomers are very welcome.

We can reserve several cabins and mingle, while getting some foods and drinks delivered to our cabin or around the Pos Bloc area, which has plenty of stores.

+++ Given the strong success of the first event in May 2024, another edition of this event is schedulled at the end of June to give everyone the chance to attend (again). This time we can have additional group discussions or 1-1 chats on how Jakarta Friends can support local business (including but not limited to small business of memembers of this group) as well as practice altruism and give back to the community at large. So this event is FOR EVERYONE who is doing any kind of business in Jakarta or online.

Let's get together and have a BUSINESS SPEED DATING & NETWORKING at Pos Bloc.

The setting is very simple: We will meet in the big hall at Pos Bloc, then find together a quite place to sit. It's a classic speed dating session, but the topic will be business! About half of the people will stay in one place, and about half with rotate, so that everyone will ge the chance to talk with as many people as possible. Everyone will have about 2-3 minutes to give an elevator pitch about their business/story/project/idea to every person they talk to! After the 2h session is over, we will mingle and connect, so that everoyne can still talk to each other, and bring their business networking to the next level.

The language will be in English. Your English doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough for people to understand you. This is your change to improve your business English!

This is the chance to promote yourself and your great ideas, business, and projects! Maybe you just openened a small café and you'd like to get customers; maybe you are working on a creative project and are looking for collaborators; maybe you are searching for international expertise and feedback; maybe you are looking for funding and financing; maybe you look for mentorship or want to give it to a junior colleague.

Personally, I am particularly interested to hear stories and challenges of women enterpreneurs, creatives, and local businesses.

With Jakarta Friends we are transitioning to a more focussed community of people who really want to connect. For this reason, I am particularly interested to support local enterpreneurs who have ideas for future events of Jakarta Friends and wish to give value to this community.

Enterpreneurs, creatives, start-uppers, local business owners, professionals with big dreams and bold plans are very welcome to join in this informal business networking.
