Classical Music Open Mic - August 30

**Instruments provided:** Pantheon Coffee in West Hollywood has agreed to host us, and they have a lovely upright piano that will be provided. Any other instruments you will have to bring with you. **What to play:** In terms of what counts as classical music - use your best judgment! I'm not going to be a stickler here. Feel free to play something you're currently working on, even if it's just a few pages. You can have it memorized or not, up to you. Depending on the number of performers, I may set a time limit of 5-7 minutes per person, but that will vary depending on attendance. Duets and trios are totally fine; vocalists are also welcome as well. **Drinks/food:** The cafe has light pastries, sandwiches (if still available at the end of the day), coffees, and teas. Speed up the learning process, “cut to the chase” and enroll in our new Sight Size measuring for the figurative artist and become a “Classical Illusionist” Painting the cast using Sight-Size develops the ability to see shapes and proportions accurately, by continuously comparing the drawn shapes with the cast. This class will develop the accuracy of drawing skills, the ability to correctly judge and paint values, and finesse transitional tones and edges to give the painting the illusion of three-dimensions. The three main objectives of this class: 1\. Drawing \- draw the shapes of the cast in correct proportion\, beginning with the big shapes then the smaller shapes\. 2\. Values\- Learn to correctly judge values by using 5\-7 tone scale which we will mix on the palette\. We will begin by first establishing the three major value relationships: the light shape\, the shadow shape and the background\. 3\.
