Please join everyone for an amazing Lantern Night Walk, a beautiful night walk that's fun, healthy, scenic, and circular, with a 3-mile route that includes brief local information along the way, allowing you to meet new friends! (**Before this walk, in the daytime there is a wonderful Walk in the area of Kings Cross. If you link both the walks together, the evening walk is HALF PRICE! There is a break in between the walks to eat or drink locally. The other walk is not far by the underground train, only 1 stop away on the same train line)** Lantern Walk: Beautiful alleyways, Some of the most beautiful untouched streets I have ever seen not damaged in WW2 or redevelopment with original Victorian lamplights still in place, stunning unique quaint Georgian Squares at night, where a ghost haunts a church, it is an amazing walk! A recording studio where Ed Sheeran, Adele, Robbie Williams recorded many of their famous songs, a beautiful community garden, Egyptian Sphinxes and even a Greek-looking temple! A fascinating 4 mile linear midweek walk from Euston Station to Holborn through very rarely seen areas of London. First of all, we will visit the British Library Museum for a short while, they have original documents to see on display, highlights are the day John Lennon wrote 'In My Life' or Paul McCartney's 'Yesterday' on an envelope. You can see the scribbled-out lines that became the songs we all know. Also Magna Carta, Mozart, Bronte, Dickens, Scott of Antarctic's last written diary page before he died (All subject to what is on display). Secret London - The incredible Lost London of Kings Cross and Pentonville

Hi all, cost, & info below, 2.5 or 5 mile walk, visit an incredible victorian coal yard that processed 8 million tonnes of coal a year, now turned into an open-air magnificent development in 2018 with vintage charm, see a square that incorporates a fountain consisting of 1,080 individual jets rising from the flush paved surface of a plaza, a beautiful walk along a stretch of the wonderful Regents Canal. (**After this walk, there is a Lost London Lantern Walk of Barnsbury, an incredible old area walking back in time! If you link both the walks together, the other walk is HALF PRICE! There is a break in between the walks to eat or drink locally before the next walk and the other walk is not far by the underground train, only 1 stop away on the same train line!)** Daytime Walk: See where some of the London Olympic rings are placed, visit a peaceful natural park, see an amazing Antique shop, a stunning victorian lock for canal boats, a magnificent canal boat now a bookshop! Giant gas holders turned into an open space and luxurious, elegant apartments. We will go to very rare areas of London you may have never seen. We will visit the beautiful St Pancras Church, home of the Hardy Tree and also Frankenstein's Mary Shelley's mother's grave, where Mary consummated her relationship with Percy Shelly! Afterward, for the 2.5 mile walkers, you will have to make your own easy way back to the station, where I will give directions for you for Caledonia Street back to the station. 5 mile option includes all of the 2.5 mile option See modernist housing designed by the Tecton architecture in 1954, the oldest gymnasium in the UK from the 1800s, the Victorian accommodation for the rail workers for Kings Cross, Grimmauld's Place; The Order of The Phoenix HQ in Harry Potter, graffiti on a long wall from Policeman! The site of where Lenin lived, the site of the New River reservoir from the 1600's which still provides fresh water today to London from Hertfordshire and we will hear the 'new water' 17th Century river still rushing under the ground from where we stand, one of the most famous people in Victorian England; a famous clown where they ask you to dance on his grave! And, wow factor! we will see in my opinion, one of the largest areas of untouched Georgian architecture in London from the immense bombing from World War 2, a truly astonishing delight to see so much beauty with every corner turned and just seeing rows and rows of stunning buildings and history. I hope you can make the additional 2.5 miles (within the 5 mile walk) to see this amazing sight. 🦭 (Last Chance!) Hike to Atlantic Grey Seals – Britain's Wildlife Safari

The seals in Norfolk are truly one of Britain's most special sights. Without any doubt, they're an incredible WOW factor and one that you must see! On this day hike, we'll walk along the top of the sand dunes and enjoy stunning panoramic views across the North Sea. On our way, we'll pass the much-loved grey seal colony at Horsey Beach, which draws thousands of visitors each year, **particularly between November and March**, when the seals come ashore to breed. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of seals and their pups stretching for as far as the eye can see! The whole walk is in the Broads National Park – one of fifteen national parks in the UK. You'll discover its iconic windmills, navigable waterways and broads (man-made, shallow lakes). With over 125 miles of lock-free waterways, the Norfolk Broads have more miles of waterway than Venice or Amsterdam, and are an extremely popular boating holiday destination! Locals like to call the Broads “the Venice of the East”. 💪 This walk is **suitable for all abilities** – it is almost entirely flat and done at a very gentle pace to allow us enjoy the nature and take plenty of pictures. **HIKE HIGHLIGHTS** * Watch seals and their young from a close distance at Horsey Gap, home to one of the biggest colonies of grey seals in Britain. * Take a gentle stroll over the vast open expanse of the golden sand dunes of Winterton Beach – a Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest. The area is a veritable haven for birds and all kinds of wildlife and is widely regarded as having the best sand dunes in Norfolk. * See the spectacular Horsey Windpump – the youngest and largest windpump in the Norfolk Broads. It was built in 1912 to pump water out from the surrounding land so that it could be used for farming. * Discover Horsey Mere, often regarded as one of the most beautiful of the northern broads and famous for its internationally important wildlife. * Walk the newly opened stretch of the England Coast Path – a new National Trail around all of England's coast, which once completed will be the longest coastal walking route in the world (4,500 kilometres in length!). **DISTANCE & DIFFICULTY** Distance: 6 miles (10km). Secret London - Dalston, Haggerston, London Fields and Regents Canal plus gems!

Hi all, cost & info below, A fun, fascinating 3 mile, 4.5mile or 6 mile option walk. People ask what our group is all about. I always say that this is the walk that has it all. It is is such a fabulous walk. The oldest surviving terraced houses in London from the 1600s, the magnificent eccentric man who burrowed under his home for 40 years, 30 ft deep and spalling out towards other roads and houses nearby! We also have a jaw dropper of a secret gem for the 4.5 & 6 mile walkers! Wonderful secret gardens, a place that became part of China, murals, a cake shop that created and designed Meghan and Harry's wedding cake with queues down the road, a wonderful, delightful African market, a woodland oasis in the middle of a town (pictured), a famous Victorian music hall singer, some wonderful Georgian squares and gorgeous Victorian shops, a walk through the beautiful London fields, the nearby area of Broadway Market (Market operates on Saturdays), a wonderful walk along Regents Canal with sharks in the water! We will be stopping for about 25 minutes about halfway through the walk with a choice of cafe and nearby eating places. Maybe visit the beautiful garden pictured above for drinks, snacks & toilets near Dalston Junction station. It's outside so maybe you will require warm clothing or simply visit another place nearby for the break. **WHERE TO MEET** **(Please allow 15 minutes to arrive before departure time)** Please meet outside the front Of Haggerston Overground Station (Please give lots of time to arrive as overground trains are not as frequent) Haggerston Overground Station (Highbury & Islington - Victoria Line) or (Whitechapel - District or Hammersmith and City) are the nearest mainline stations for connection routes. **COST** £10 cash/card payment by simply turning up on the day. There is no charge to RSVP beforehand on the Meetup event. It has a bar, cocktails (even 'absinthe' Vincent Van Gogh's choice of drink) and food. In darkened wonderful Victorian surroundings, busy at weekends. Of course we will talk about the station and the famous theatre but once we hit the back streets there is so much more of interest. How about a forgotten wedding venue for the famous, a hidden square and a music venue many of us will remember.
