As it's a short event, latecomers are not entertained. I will update the live location in the comments at 12.20 pm We may move/walk 10 mins after the beginning of the event. Follow us with the live location that I share in the comments Note : Please update your RSVP if you are unable to make it. We are all taking time of our busy schedule to make this happen.

AI — Jobs Creator or Destroyer?
Thu, Aug 27, 8:00 AMEvery leadership team is having some version of the same conversation right now: what does AI actually change about how we structure our teams, and what capability do we need to build for what's coming? Join us for a panel discussion tackling the question head-on: **AI — jobs creator or destroyer?** We've brought together leaders who see the answer play out in real hiring and org-design decisions every day — not AI vendors selling a roadmap, but people on the front line of how work is actually changing: - **Tamba Sumana**, Founder of Lucida (Search, Advisory & RPO), 20+ years across the jobs ecosystem - **Mickey Rummery**, Founder of RUMR, recruitment focused on design, product, tech and AI The organisers are also at front line of A.I: - **Khang Vo**, AI lecturer (RMIT, Melbourne Uni) and founder of ITPA, and SchoolAmp - **Alex Young**, AI and Innovation Leader Drawing on the latest government data on AI and employment in Australia, we'll dig into the questions leadership teams are actually wrestling with: Is AI creating new roles, or just renaming old ones? Which jobs on your team are most exposed — and which are safest? What capability should you be building into your workforce now, before the decision gets made for you? This isn't a session on AI tools. It's a conversation for **any leader — across HR, engineering, product, operations or the C-suite — who's curious what AI means for their team, their structure, and the capability they'll need to compete.** Come with questions. We'll leave time to put yours to the panel. Purchase via Luma: https://luma.com/namg9mwk **The details:** Thursday 27 August, 6–8pm at 11th Space (1102/568 Collins Street, Melbourne) — a sharp, central spot for an evening conversation. $19 to cover food, beer and wine. This is the first of a four-part series running through to November — come back each month for a different angle on AI in the workplace: **August** (this event): AI — Jobs Creator or Destroyer? **September:** The Joys of Risk and Cyber **October:** AI — What Are They Teaching the Kids? A look at what new grads are being taught about using AI **November:** AI Use in Not-for-Profit

BeSocial. Brunch and New Friends
Sun, Aug 23, 2:00 AMMeet new people over good food, easy conversation, and a relaxed weekend brunch. This event is designed for anyone who wants to make new friends in a warm, low-pressure setting. Instead of a loud or overwhelming social event, we’ll keep things simple: a small group, a welcoming table, and friendly conversations that help everyone feel included. You can come alone — most people will. We’ll use a few light BeSocial prompts to make introductions easier and help conversations move beyond the usual “what do you do?” small talk. Whether you’re new to the area, rebuilding your social circle, or just looking for more genuine connection in your week, this is a simple and enjoyable way to meet people who are also open to friendship. The goal is to leave feeling like you shared a good meal, had real conversations, and maybe found someone you’d like to catch up with again. Perfect for: brunch lovers, first-time attendees, people new to the area, young professionals, and anyone wanting an easy weekend way to meet new friends. To help you get the most out of the event, we ask that you download our app before you arrive (or upon arrival). The app will be used throughout the event for prompts, activities, and other interactive content so having it ready will ensure you can fully participate. https://apps.apple.com/au/app/besocial/id6759604739 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appetiser.besocial&hl=en Event photography and videography may take place at this event. Images and footage captured may be used in future BeSocial promotional materials. If you do not wish to appear in promotional materials, please notify Nexaro Group Pty Ltd before the event by emailing support@besocialapp.co, or let the event hosts know on the day.
