**Forestville to Manly: Classic Bushwalk, Manly Dam, Manly Beach 16KM Medium** From Warringah Road, Forestville we make haste for **Currie Road Trail** which gets us into the bush and onto the **Natural Bridge Track**, by which we cross the gully and access **Allambie Heights**. At the back of the Warringah Aquatic Centre we will find the **Roller Coaster Possum Track** and Manly Creek Trail, which we follow through to **Manly Dam** and our lunch stop with clean bathrooms at 8KM in. Many Dam rocks and, after lunch, we walk straight across **the Dam wall**, before turning south, sneaking through a few backstreets and accessing a system of parks and pathways that follow **Manly Creek** down to Manly Lagoon and, finally, the Pacific Ocean at **Queenscliff Beach**! A stroll along the **Manly Beach Promenade** leads to the Corso and a Pub, or straight to Manly Ferry Wharf for a **classic ferry ride** across Sydney Harbour back to Circular Quay! What more could you possibly want from a day out!!! **Distance:** 16KM **Type of Walk:** Great bush walking in the first half, including little known trails leading onto the back of Manly Dam. Parks, well-formed paths for the rest of the day. **Difficulty:** Medium. **Walking Pace:** Steady pace all day and average 4km per hour. **Meeting Place + Transport:** We meet at **Chatswood Train/Bus Interchange** to catch the **160X Service Bus**, departing **Bus Stand A at 10:02AM**, through to Forestville. Ferry back to Circular Quay or northern beaches bus services from Manly. **What to bring:** Walking shoes/boots; 1.5 litres of water, refill available; hydrolytes; snacks; lunch, light rain jacket; sunscreen, cap/hat. **NO SHOPS AT OUR LUNCH STOP, SO DO BRING FOOD!** **Suggested Donation:** $10 **Pub:** Ivanhoe Hotel, Manly Corso **By RSVPing to this event,** you (and your guests) agree to and are bound by the terms and conditions of SOMG which you can view here: [Sydney Outdoors Meetup Group Discussions](https://www.meetup.com/sydney-outdoors-meetup-group/discussions/?eventOrigin=home_groups_you_organize) **Questions?** Leave a comment below. Whale Watching: Watsons Bay to Maroubra!!! 18km Medium

Whale Watching: Watsons Bay to Maroubra!!! 18km Medium

Fri, Jun 5, 11:30 PM
From Sydney Outdoors Meetup Group
4.7

**Whale Watching Day!!! Watson’s Bay to Maroubra 18 km (Medium)** We ferry from Circular Quay to Watsons Bay and commence our walk out of South Head, and along the Federation walk, navigating Diamond Bay and Dover Heights before dropping down to North Bondi. Leaving Bondi Beach behind, we strike out for Tamarrama and Bronte, where we stop for a nice lunch break of 45 minutes. Following lunch we head for Maroubra via Clovelly and Coogee Beaches. We stop at Mistral Point before marching into Maroubra where we will invade the Maroubra Seals Club for a tasty beer (and food if desired - its pretty tasty, I have to say!), before grabbing a bus back to the City. The ocean front scenery on this walk is stunning! Hopefully we will spot **Humpback whales** during the day; it is likely that we will. We should arrive at Maroubra by about 4:30pm. Please **bring photo ID**, to gain entrance to the Maroubra Seals Club. **Distance:** 18 km **Type of Walk:** Almost the entire walk is along ocean front promenades. **Difficulty:** Medium, because of the distance. If you are unsure about the distance but would like to test yourself this is a walk for you: there are plenty of get-out points. **Walking Pace:** We will average 4.5 km per hour. **Meeting Place and Transport:** We catch the Watsons Bay Ferry from Circular Quay Wharf 2. The Ferry leaves Circular Quay at 9:45 am and arrives at Watsons Bay at 10:08am. Transport back from Maroubra is by bus; it is a high frequency service. **What to bring:** Good walking shoes/trail runners; 1.5 litres of water, refill available along the way; hydrolytes; one snack and one lunch; light rain jacket depending on conditions; sunscreen and a cap or hat with a wide brim. **LUNCH CAN BE PURCHASED AT BRONTE.** **Suggested Donation:** $10 **Pub:** Maroubra Seals Club By RSVPing to this event, you (and your guests) agree to and are bound by the terms and conditions of SOMG which you can view here: [Sydney Outdoors Meetup Group Discussions](https://www.meetup.com/sydney-outdoors-meetup-group/discussions/?eventOrigin=home_groups_you_organize) If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.
