Carlingford to Parramatta via The Ponds

This walk starts by catching the 630 Bus from Epping Station, Beecroft Rd, Stand F at 10:00am to Pennant Hills Rd opp Carlingford Court. From here we will follow Pond Creek, Subiaco Creek, Vineyard creek and the Parramatta River to Parramatta. Refreshments or late lunch after walk at Woolpack Hotel in Parramatta. It's a short walk from the Hotel to Parramatta Train Station. Distance: 14Km Terrain: Mainly all bush tracks Time: Around 3-4 hrs WHAT TO BRING. This is vital to enable you to move quickly around a small yacht when it heels (leans over) as much as 30 degrees and be ready to sit with your legs over the rail after tacking (changing course). My yacht wins in most seasons and I'm extremely competitive. We DO NOT carry crew who just sit on the rail, and you must be willing to work as a team. **PLEASE REMEMBER YOU’RE COMING TO BE TAUGHT HOW TO SAIL SO I NEED TO POINT OUT A FEW THINGS FOR SAFETY REASONS** 1. Wear clothes suitable for sailing – MOST IMPORTANT – rubber, soft-soled shoes with good grip. NO THONGS OR BARE FEET! 2. If you have long hair, TIE IT UP 3. Glasses and hats need to be tied with cord or similar – I’ve seen so many disappear overboard. 4. If you have sailing or gym gloves, bring them to protect hands from rope burn. 5. Remove rings off fingers and long finger nails if bent back it really hurts

Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. Sydney Social Climbers is a group of social climbing enthusiasts who also enjoy a beer and a chat. We meet every Thursday 6:15PM, at Nomad Annandale climbing gym. **Schedule** 6:15PM - 6:30PM - Meet and Greet 6:30PM -8:15PM - Climbing 8:15PM-8:20PM - Regroup and leave for Pub 8:20PM Onwards - Dinner & Drinks at The Annandale Hotel **What is Bouldering?** Bouldering is rock climbing without ropes or harnesses. The challenge is to climb short but tricky routes using balance, technique, and strength. It's a high-intensity exercise that strengthens many of the major muscles of the body, and in particular your core, back, shoulders, arms, hands, and grip. It can also help improve your sport climbing technique. Bouldering routes are set for beginners and up to advanced climbers at the gym.
