Underwater Hockey — Beginners Welcome!

Come try Underwater Hockey! Yes—hockey played on the bottom of a swimming pool! How does it work? Watch this short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoiUTu4emcE It’s a fun team sport, a great workout and something completely different. Beginners are welcome—no underwater hockey experience needed! You should be comfortable swimming and putting your face underwater. Experienced players will introduce you to the game, explain the rules and help you get geared up. We typically have 10 or more players, even when the Meetup attendance count looks low. What to bring Just a bathing suit! Club equipment is available to borrow. If you have your own mask, snorkel or fins, feel free to bring them. Cost Your first three sessions cost $20 total, helping cover the pool rental. After that, term memberships and drop-in options are available, typically working out to around $15–$20 per session. 🍁 Chasing Fall Colours at Forks of the Credit

Let’s head out to Forks of the Credit Provincial Park for a beautiful fall hike through colourful forests, rolling trails, and the scenic Cataract Falls! We can then stop on our way back for dinner! We’ll take our time, enjoy the views, take plenty of photos, and have some good company along the way. Reservations open 5 days before the visit. Please book the 12:00 PM–4:00 PM time slot. Please don't wait until the day of the hike, as October weekends can fill up quickly. Bring water, snacks, and comfortable hiking shoes. Autumn trails can be muddy or slippery, so dress accordingly. Come for the fall colours, stay for the waterfall and good company! 🍁😊

Watercolour Painting Meetup

Join us for watercolour painting meetups at a local cafe. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced painter, all skill levels are welcome. Each session will begin with brief introductions, a short overview of watercolour techniques, and ideas to spark inspiration. From there, we'll settle in to paint, chat, and enjoy cafe drinks together. We’ll wrap up each meetup with a show-and-tell, where anyone who’d like can share their work and see what others have created. The meetup is free if you bring your own supplies. If you need materials, $5 cash will cover basic watercolour supplies. Each meetup is limited to 10 attendees.

Walk and Salmon watching (Free or Paid Event))

Salmons are expected to be swimming upstream. An annual upward migration. We will spend some time to watch at a few spots and then continue with our walk and return back to the starting point. We will wait until 3:10pm and start walking. If you arrive late, pls follow the Humber River Trail heading north and you can catch up with the group. Exact location and meeting spot will be sent to participants. Spend a day in Algonquin Park at the most magical time of year — when the maples turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold. This 1/2 day photo workshop is all about slowing down and learning how to capture the beauty of fall in a way that feels true to your style. This is a hands-on intensive one-on-one workshop where I’ll share practical tips on composition, working with natural light, and getting the most out of your gear — whether you’re shooting with a DSLR, mirrorless, or even just your phone. The pace is relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions, try new techniques, and of course, make some great photos. We'll meet up at **Etienne Brulé Park Parking** and take a stroll along the Humber River, where we'll watch the salmon jump and splash their way upstream. It's a sight you won't want to miss! After our walk, let's grab a coffee and a snack to relax and chat about what we saw. Fall Colours Canoe trip to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park

This is a trip to view the back country Ontario during prime fall colours. This is a one-night trip. We will paddle into the interior and camp for the night. There are 2 small portage. Camp sites and canoes will be reserved. Food will be provided and carpooling arranged. You do not need to bring any food. We will be asking for a $50 deposit via paypal or bank email transfer to keep your spot since I need to reserve the sites and canoes ahead of time. I will send out a note with further information to those who sign up. See paypal and bank email transfer info under "COSTS" below. RSVP REQUIREMENTS RSVP "Going" if you are sure you can attend, are able to meet the difficulty requirement, bring what is needed and have reviewed the costs associated with this event. EVENT DETAILS Difficulty: Easy to Moderate - You are able to paddle 3-4 hours per day and are reasonably fit. What to Bring: Hat, Personal water bottle, 2 or 3 dry bags or garbage bags (to use for your clothes & sleeping bag) Put the garbage bag inside to line you backpack. Put another one inside your sleeping bag case to line that. Waterproof Coat. List of Clothing : Hat, swimsuit, sweaters or sweatshirts (it will get cold in the evenings), jeans or long pants, 1 towel, 2 pairs shoes - 1 for dry hiking and 1 for wet stuff. Wet shoes need to be secure, flip flops and loose sandals may get stuck in the mud. bowl, cup, spoon, fork, sun glasses, flashlight or strong headlamp, Toiletries: Toilet paper, sunscreen, bug spray. When you pack your stuff, if you can pack everything in one pack, portaging will be much easier! Other camping items: Backpack, Sleeping bag (suitable for cold weather), sleeping pad or mattress GETTING THERE Drivers will be notified by the organizer where to meet and pick up passengers. Drivers will be sent complete directions as to where, when and who to meet and directions to the Park. # 🍂🌊 FALL WALK: TORONTO ISLANDS 🌊🍁 ### Island Paths, Fall Colours & Toronto's Best Urban Escape There is something magical about the Toronto Islands in the fall. Once the summer crowds disappear, the islands become quieter and more peaceful. The changing leaves, crisp air, open green spaces, quiet cottages, and golden light over the water make it one of the best times of year to explore. And then there's the skyline. From the islands, you get some of the best views of Toronto anywhere in the city — especially when the fall colours frame the downtown skyline across the water. Join us for a relaxed fall walk through **Hanlan's Point, Centre Island, and Ward's Island**, enjoying the scenery, fresh air, and great conversation along the way. This is approximately **9 km**, with mostly flat paths and no major hills.
