🥾 What to Expect on the Hike 📍 Meeting Point We’ll meet outside Mount Kuring-gai Station and then walk together to the trail starting point. 🥾 The hike It is approximately 9.5 km, with a mix of uphill and downhill sections and some uneven bush tracks. We’ll keep a comfortable pace and take short breaks along the way to enjoy the scenery. It’s a moderate bushwalk, so please come prepared with comfortable walking/hiking shoes and enough water. 🌿 What You Might See Depending on the day, we may spot: 🦎 Water dragons 🐦 Different types of birds 🐟 Fish in the water 🌳 Beautiful native bushland 🏞️ Scenic views of the surrounding valleys and waterways 🎒 What to Bring 💧 Plenty of water 🍎 Fruit, snacks or protein bars if you’d like 🥾 Comfortable hiking shoes with good grip 🧢 Hat and sunscreen 🎒 A small backpack 📱 Phone with enough battery + power bank if you have one 👋 How to Find the Group We’ll meet outside Mount Kuring-gai Station before starting the walk. I’ll be at the meeting point, so everyone can easily find the group. (I take a train from Hornsby, if you live this side then you can join me here as well) Most importantly, come ready for a 9.5 km adventure, beautiful scenery, good conversation and a fun day outdoors! 🌿🥾😊 Note: This is not a guided walk/hike. THE GOD OF HIKING has a MASTERPIECE, and it's called: “HANGING ROCK”

To think that 3 Sisters is all the tourist rage in Blue Mountains when an easy 5kms Trail Hike takes you to a **HANGING ROCK** destination that can only be described as… *Stunning. Magical. Magnificent. Dangerous (can be). Unforgettable.* **The best view in all of The Blue Mountains? Hanging Rock is absolutely incredible.** Let’s hike it, and let’s add “Grotto Canyon”… a hidden, cool-calm waterfall in a cave-like setting. **THE HIKE. HANGING ROCK (pic on left)** Hanging Rock… last weekend, I didn’t know what to expect when I first hiked it. Sure, I’d seen the photos / videos, and it looked impressive. My advice to you? *Ignore the photos.* It’s so, so much more amazing in person. The sheer rock faces are incredible to be close to. The contrasting rock colours with the background green-ish Blue Mountains is so picturesque… 20minutes at Hanging Rock is a destination you won’t forget. And I wanna see it again. As far as easy hikes go in The Blue Mountains this one is it. It’s a flat 5kms out. 5kms back (we’ll move with passion). It’s a lovely fire trail journey with wildflowers and views in the distance…. And then? You can sense Hanging Rock is about to appear. And when it does, it’s “WOW!!!!!!” At this point the hike down brings some adventure… safety is key, but it’s all proper fun and amazing photos. **LUNCH.** Spikes Bistro is a great spot on Blackheath Golf Course for lunch and a post-hike beer. I’ve gotten to know the owner – the nicest Sri Lankan family, and their food is really good with top (they always give us the best table on the balcony) views over the golf course. CAVES BEACH, GHOSTIES BEACH… Central Coast Coastal Adventure!!!

During my 3 Years of hosting **We Hike to the Bar** there's been quite a few jaw-dropping moments of scenery... **Ghosties Beach** and its caves is most likely the top moment of 2026. Legend Hiker Heidi (90+ hikes) and a few others mentioned some Newcastle hikes, and while researching - I just can't find a lot. If you have some suggestions, please send them to me. What did I find is a tad closer to Sydney, and this will be a gem of a 15kms coastal journey... **GHOSTIES BEACH - CAVES BEACH - SWANSEA HEADS** Low tide is 230pm (essential for Ghosties Beach caves), so here's how we'll hike **Swansea (north) to Catherine Hill Bay for lunch (cars parked here)... then finish with the short and beautiful Ghosties Beach Cave loop!** From AI (sorry, I hate using it), the highlights: * **Ghosties Beach Sea Cave:** A massive, dramatic rock tunnel and sea cave system located at the southern end of Ghosties Beach. (Note: It must be explored strictly during **low tide** for safe access). * **Pink Caves:** Vibrant, naturally pink-hued rock formations and coastal sea caves near Catherine Hill Bay. * **Scenic Coastline & Beaches:** Sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and passes past several picturesque spots including Pinney Beach, Catherine Hill Bay, and Moonee Beach. * **Vantage Points:** Elevated headland views looking up and down the New South Wales coastline. We'll need drivers. Of course! We love you. I think good pick up points are Parramatta, Wolli Creek, and Chatswood. It's a 1hrs 20min drive from Chatswood. We'll start with those 3 locations and work from there. **Catherine Hill Bay Hotel "The Catho"** is a heritage-listed (from 1875) joint with really good food... as soon as you look at this pub, you won't forget it. Woodford Train Station Wheel Gully Waterhole; 8km\, morning tea\. 2\. Wheel Gully to Oaks Picnic Area; 6km\, lunch/bathroom\. 3\. Oaks to Red Hand Cave; 7km\. 4\. RH cave to Glenbrook Train Station; 7km\. **Garigal National Park- St Ives to Roseville - 15km** I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land on which I walk, the Garigal people & pay respect to the Elders past, present & emerging. **🌳8.45am Meeting Place:** **[Gordon Station, Stand A.](https://tinyurl.com/4ykddcx8)** **🌳About:** This is a picturesque walk of the northern end of Garigal National Park with water views most of the way. It has a lot of shady parts along the creek too & is a good warm weather distance. A nice early finish gives you time to do something else on the day. **🌳Route:** From Gordon Station we catch the 197 bus for an 11 minute trip to our starting point in St Ives. We walk down a street and follow a track along Middle Harbour Creek to Davidson Park. To finish we cross Roseville Bridge to the bus stop. There's frequent buses back to the CBD or Chatswood. We should arrive at Roseville around 1.30pm. **🌳Distance:** 15km **🌳Type of walk:** Shady with well established bush tracks & fire trails. **🌳Difficulty:** Moderate. There are some technical, rocky & uneven sections. Join us for a stunning coastal adventure where we’ll explore the North Head Circuit and the surrounding coastline. This route offers **spectacular ocean and harbour views, WWII history at North Fort, and local wildlife**. Great North Wak - Awesome Bushwalk from Chatswood to Thornleigh!

**This is a fabulous bush walk with plenty of picturesque sites to see along the way!** **The route follows the peaceful, non-tidal waters of the Lane Cove River, tracing the valley from the weir at Fullers Bridge all the way up to the northern watershed near Thornleigh.** **We meet outside Chatswood Train Station opposite McDonalds at 9.30am sharp.** **We start by walking through some local back streets to reach the Blue Gum Walking Track which will take us to the Lane Cove River National Park.** **We will then join the Great North Walk trail to Thornleigh.** **There are steeper sections and rocky dry riverbeds. The scenery is diverse - quintessential Aussie bush, honeycomb sandstone and mossy valleys. We will meander through this beautiful piece of quiet Aussie bush with shaded gullies and blue gums. Great North Walk Mt Kuring Gai to Hornsby via Berowra 22km med-hard

Fantastic 22.3 km one-way trail from Hornsby to Mount Kuring-gai traverses Berowra Valley National Park and includes sections like the Blue Gum Walk and Tunks Ridge Reserve. Expect varied terrain with steep sections, particularly as you approach Mount Kuring-gai, where you'll encounter panoramic views. The route also passes by Fishponds and Berowra Creek. Be prepared for a challenging hike that requires stamina and resilience, especially during the final ascent. ⚠️ FOR YOUR SAFETY & ENJOYMENT, PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BELOW FULLY BEFORE YOU CLICK ‘Attend’! ******************************************** 🗓 DATE: Saturday, 7 November 2026. ⏰ MEETING TIME: 10.40am. 🚊 MEETING POINT: Blackheath station (start & finish), Great Western Hwy entry/exit. 🌍 Please use Google maps for exact location, not Meetup maps! ******************************************** 🥾 DISTANCE: 16km return. 🥾 GRADE: Mostly Moderate/slightly HARD on a steady pace, not snail pace! 💪🏽 Reasonable fitness recommended due to uneven rocky surfaces, ups and downs hills, lots and lots of steep stairs, creek crossings, rock scramblings and a bit of bush bashing at few overgrown sections. 💪🏽 Tracks expected to be wet, muddy and slippery in parts. 📸 WHAT TO EXPECT: 🚶‍♂️Upon arrival at Blackheath station, we will proceed immediately on a local roads via Popes Glen and Govetts Leap with amazing views of the waterfalls and Grose Valley in Blue Mountains NP. ℹ️ Pulpit Rock Reserve in Blackheath has now reopened following major restoration works, including improved access, picnic facilities, accessible amenities and upgraded walking tracks. https://www.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/media-centre/pulpit-rock-reopens-after-major-upgrade 🚶‍♀️From the platforms that remain, the view is the one that made Pulpit Rock a favourite. Bondi to Rose Bay - Part 1 of Great Coastal Walks

Bondi to Rose Bay is a beautiful walk with great scenery. It is best to wear walking shoes or trail runners, as most of it is on public roads/paths. It starts easy, but those steps up and down after 15km or so are still a good work out! It is possible to walk back to the start from Rose Bay (approx 25 minute walk) There is also public transport back to the City, or (potential) car-pooling back to the start. 7:30am start on the beach side of Bondi Pavilion.
