Forte Animal Rescue Volunteer Orientation

Forte Animal Rescue Volunteer Orientation

Sat, Jun 13, 7:00 PM
From Forte Animal Rescue Social Club: Wags, Wine and Walks
5.0

Attention all dog lovers! If you’re interested in volunteering with an animal rescue organization, please consider Forte Animal Rescue, a 100% volunteer group. We need volunteers to help with our weekly adoption event, dog walking and dog transportation. We also need fosters for our dogs, so they don’t have to stay in a kennel until they’re adopted. We’re also looking for an experienced Grant Writer and a Videographer who can video and post our dogs on social media. And, of course, we're always looking for fresh fundraising ideas, too. Our volunteers are asked to attend an orientation on the west side of LA before they can volunteer with us. Orientations are held the second Saturday of each month from 12 to 4pm. If you think you’d be interested in helping us, please send an email to volunteer@FARescue.org for the application form and more details. You will also need a photocopy of your driver's license or other government issued identification. http://farescue.org

[Atheists United](www.atheistsunited.org), California's largest grassroots atheist nonprofit, is fighting the emergency food crisis with our partners [Sunday Assembly Los Angeles](www.sundayassemblyla.com) by hosting a food distribution in Los Angeles outside our offices. We've partnered with the LA Food Bank and give out over 3,000lbs of food each event. **We need volunteers to help us assemble and organize food packages from 12pm - 5pm every third Friday.** From 3:30pm - 5pm volunteers will help hand food out directly to those in need in the neighborhood. From 5pm - 6pm we'll clean up and celebrate everything we accomplished together. Music and snacks will make it well worth your time. If you'd like to be a super volunteer, contact us about showing up at 10am to help with setup! **[If you're able to make a donation to our Food Distribution program please text the code "AUFOOD" to 44-321, or click here](https://secure.givelively.org/donate/atheists-united/support-atheists-united-s-food-distributions). We also hope you join us for dinner at a local restaurant after the event. **\*\*Safety:** COVID-19 is extremely dangerous and we prioritize the safety of our volunteers and food recipients. From Wild Food and Self-Reliance Discovery
4.9

To attend and for exact location, register [HERE](https://www.schoolofself-reliance.com/event/lunchtime-exploratory-nature-walk/) We’ll explore the perimeter of this section of the Arroyo Seco and find some of the in-season wild edibles, and medicinal plants, and we’ll view the overall basin. Along this footpath, we will find foods, medicines, and several plants used for weaving and basketry. We’ll learn about the woods that were used for shelter, and fire, and discuss how some of the rocks were used in the past. We’ll also see many of the “invasive” non-native edibles.
