Mon, Sep 7, 5:00 PMThe Data Science Speakers Club is a Toastmasters International club that helps current and next-generation data scientists improve their public speaking skills. **Join us to contribute to the meeting and practice speaking in a supportive environment.** **This is a HYBRID Meeting! Use Teams to join or come in person.** You can visit the event as a guest. Or you may decide to join our club. Joining the Data Science Speakers Club means joining a supportive environment to build your confidence in public speaking and to practice speaking in front of an audience. You will also gain the opportunity to receive feedback on your speeches in a friendly environment, including what you have done well and guidance on the areas you can improve upon. We also run a mentorship program where an experienced mentor supports you on your public speaking journey. Meeting Theme: **TBC** Tentative Schedule: 18:00 - Pre-meeting socialising 18:30 - Meeting starts 18:40 - Guest introduction 18:45 - Table Topic 19:15 - Break 19:30 - Prepared Speeches (3 prepared speeches with evaluation) 20:15 - Wrap up, awards, announcements 20:30 - End of Meeting We will have impromptu speech preparation in groups called Table Topics, where guests can participate. We meet on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Mondays of each month. Each meeting is a mixture of prepared speeches by our members, speaking roles, and impromptu speaking challenges by members and guests. Our meetings are free to attend, and you only have to speak if you want to. FREE Gay/Bi/Q Mens Committed (closed) Sharing Circle - Covent Garden, room 502
Fri, Sep 18, 6:00 PM**Introducing the Committed Men's Therapy Group** We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join our affordable **Committed Men's Therapy Group**, held at City Lit College in Holborn/Covent Garden. This closed group is designed for gay, bisexual, and queer men who would like to engage in regular, ongoing group therapy in Central London. It offers the chance to build meaningful connections, develop supportive relationships, and work therapeutically alongside a familiar group of members over a six-month period. **THIS IS A FREE STARTER SESSION - you will be able to see, hear and feel whether this is for you and if you want to eventually commit to the group over a period of 12 weeks.** **There is nothing binding about this FREE session. No strings attached :)** The group meets **fortnightly for 12 sessions over six months**, providing continuity, trust, and a deeper therapeutic experience. Members who join are asked to commit to attending the full programme wherever possible. **Some of the topics we cover are:** Isolation and family Being in a relationship - is it important? Love, sex, romance Who am I - what makes me, me? Do I feel I connect with others in my life to the degree that I want to? How to find someone special? What is it to be a gay/bi/queer man in the 21st cebtury - for you? Gender roles and gender fluidity Our use of dating apps - what do we think of it? Can it be an addiction or is it sometimes a positive experience? Dating Monogamy - is it important? Friends vs. sexual partners? Age -gap - is it possible? Addictions Discrimination among men who love men Loneliness Getting older (and gay scenes obsession with youth) Sugar daddy/Sugar Son How out am I - work, friends, family, extended family, sports etc ? Living a compartmental life Have you ever been touched without giving permission My mum/my dad ..and much more.. Eventually the fee is **£40 per session**. Once accepted into the group, members are kindly asked to set up a standing order of **£80 per month for six months**. **What to Expect** Each 90-minute session will provide a supportive, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which members can bring their own personal experiences, challenges, thoughts, and feelings for exploration. Together, we will reflect on these experiences within a familiar and trusting group environment. The group is client-led and responsive to the needs of those attending. Sessions will follow an organic therapeutic process that encourages members to be present in the moment, while also allowing space for relevant themes, discussions, and occasional workshops when beneficial. With a limited number of regular participants, members will collectively contribute to creating a respectful, compassionate, and supportive space where everyone can feel heard and valued. There may also be an opportunity to continue the group beyond the initial six-month commitment, subject to interest from members.
