Please gather at the Hitchiti trailhead and enjoy this wonderful hike following Falling Creek down to the Ocmulgee River. GPS sends you to various places in its attempt to find this parking lot. IMPORTANT NOTE: GO 1.2 MILES ON JARRELL PLANTATION ROAD AFTER TURNING OFF OF HWY 18. Small parking lot on right. This is a circular trail down to the Ocmulgee River and back. Very nice, secluded trail hike. The Hitchiti Trail is part of the Ernst Brender Demonstration Forest. It is a woodland trail that traverses a variety of woodland areas, granite outcrops, and several stream and river views.
4 mile trail out to the big rocks and back with white blazes.
Bring your insect repellent to keep ticks away, water, and snacks. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times.

6.9 mile hike at Arrowhead Park on Lake Tobosofkee.
Hike through the woods and along the lake shore. The park is a forgotten gem in the Macon area.

Fee: There is a $5 per person entry fee to this park.

Terrain: Intermediate. rocky, rooty, well maintained mountain bike trail.

We will meet at the mountain bike trail head shelter/picnic table (first left once you are in the park).

We will watch another amazing sunset from the dam area on a rocky outcrop . Bread and salad will be provided along with a grill to cook your favorite protein . You bring your protein seasoned the way you like it and we will grill it for you . Along with your protein of choice please bring sunscreen , plenty of water to drink , hat , sun glasses , bug spray and get a park pass for the year or pay the 5 dollar fee . As always properly worn life jackets are required during paddle events . Hope to see you there ! Suggestions such as steak, chicken, shrimp or veggies on a skewer . Something that will be single serve and cook quickly . Don’t forget to bring a headlamp for the return paddle .
