Annual Tiki Night @ Ogies Trailer Park!!

Details

Aloha Everyone! Can't believe it's already time for our annual tiki night. We decided to save this for towards the end of the season so we have a fun way to send off the summer. Let's don our best tropical themed shirts and other attire and enjoy some tiki cocktails!

Quick Notes: Tropical attire is totally optional. We don't expect anyone to run out and buy anything just for a goofy meetup event. If you don't have any Hawaiian/tropical themed shirts or other attire, feel free to come however you'd like. Also, this event is not sponsored/connected with Ogies Trailer Park in any way. This is just a fun little event we do ourselves, and Ogies is a great spot considering they have the tiki bar and plenty of tropical style drinks.

If you've never been to Ogies Trailer Park, you're in for a treat. The themed bar is one of the most unique nightlife spots in Providence. Don't worry, it's an actual bar not a trailer park haha The inside is themed in a retro 1950s style with plenty of funky lights and fun art. Their outdoor patio is where the bar really shines, so hopefully the weather is on our side. The back patio sports fake trailer facades and plenty of outdoor seating, and there's even a firepit if we're lucky enough to snag some seats throughout the night.

Ogies also has the largest selection of Tiki (tropical) style cocktails in the city. The crowd favorite is always the Mai Tai, but there's plenty of other tiki style cocktails on the menu. If you're not a rum person, don't worry. Not only is the Saturn a popular gin based tiki drink, but Ogies has a huge cocktail menu outside of the usual tropical fare. They serve everything from pre-prohibition cocktails to modern classics, plus they have a large bar and can make pretty much anything you may be craving. They have plenty of beer on tap and in cans. Plus there's ciders and plenty of canned cocktails/seltzers. Don't worry, you'll certainly find something. Plus they even have a dedicated tiki bar in the summer months, so we'll likely stick around there for a good potion of the night!

If you come hungry, Granny Boo's Kitchen has you covered. The food window is located in the far corner of the building from the main entrance, and serves up some great food. The bar is famous for their tater tots, but they have all sorts of options.

Take a look at the link below to check out the bar's food and drink menus.

Quick warning though, Ogies is famous for it's sometimes heavy pours with their cocktails. Especially their tiki drinks since they're sweet can be pretty dangerous.

This year we're going to add some prizes for those of us who decide to wear our tropical best. We'll have an award for the funniest pattern and another award for best overall. Not sure what the prize will be, maybe a funny little necklace or medal. We'll see :D

Let's kick off the night at 7:30. It shouldn't be tough to find us with the Hawaiian/tropical attire, but once the host(s) pick a spot we'll put our location in the comments.

There is a fair amount of indoor space, so this event will take place rain or shine. Hopefully we'll be lucky with the weather. If people want to move on later in the night, Deadbeats may be a good second spot just around the corner. We'll decide on the night.

Please feel free to leave a comment or reach out to the host(s) directly if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing everyone then!

One final note that's less fun. We just ask that everyone please drink responsibly. Eddie has learned first hand, it's easy to accidently over indulge when the Mai Tais go down so easy haha. This is a night where we highly recommend a ride share or having a ride planned just incase. If you attend this event you agree that this meetup and its hosts are not responsible for damages that may incur as a result of your actions/behavior. Hosts will be available to remedy issues to the best of their ability in the unlikely event anything occurs.
