DAM Photo Exhibit & Photography Assignment

Details

Currently on view at the Denver Art Museum is an exhibit titled "What We've Been Up To: Landscape", a selection of photos from the museum's collection never before shown to the public. The purpose of this meetup is to visit the exhibit and then provide one or more images that either show someone interacting with a work of art on display (in that exhibit or elsewhere in the museum) or in which the composition is influenced by a work of art on display. The idea is to create a link between art found in the museum and your photography. In the second category the photo can be something you've taken in the past.

The museum permits cameras in the galleries and public spaces as long as flash is not used. You can also use a mobile phone camera if you prefer to be more unobtrusive. Tripods are not permitted. We can use each other as the subject interacting with a work of art if you're more comfortable with that approach.

We'll meet inside the entrance to the Martin (North) Building, the one with the circular shape (not the more angular Hamilton Building), at 1 PM. If you want to come early for lunch, we'll be in Cafe Gio just inside the entrance at 12:15.

The best place to park is in the Civic Center Parking Garage just across from the museum. The entrance is on 12th Street just west of Broadway.
