👋 Hello guys! I’m heading out tonight to catch the sequel by Stephen Sommers. It’s one of the better sequels in the franchise and really keeps the vibe of the original.
The film is set in 1933, approximately eight to ten years after the first, following Rick O’Connell and Evelyn Carnahan, who are now married and living in London with their 8-year-old son, Alex. Things take a turn when Alex triggers the curse of the Bracelet of Anubis, leading to a race against time to stop the Scorpion King’s army. It’s really a lot of fun.
If you’re up for joining, I’ll be at the Look Dine-In Cinema Bar about an hour before the movie for drinks. Then we’ll head to Screen 7—I’ll be in Row E12, but pick any seat you like! Once the movie ends, we’ll reconvene one more time for a catch up and a Letterboxd review and chat.
If you’re into this kind of old-school mummy reimagining like me, it’s a pretty fun flick, and you may just want to tag along!
