What weโre about
๐ HELLO AND WELCOME TO MOVIE ROADHOUSE LONDON THE LARGEST MOVIE CLUB IN LONDON MADE BY MOVIE FANS FOR MOVIE FANS.
In a nutshell, we are just a bunch of Film Buffs, Filmmakers and Creators who like to go out for drinks and watch movies. We also rate and review the films after we watch them and the results are posted on our **Letterboxd **Page.
We are also avid supporters of Independent Cinema, The Film Festival Guild, Medicinema and establishments like Prince Charles Cinema and the British Film Institute to mention a few. Thanks to this we sometimes gain special access and discounts to special events that we can then share with you. Plus we meet up regularly for a social to catch up again at the BFI which is a lot of fun.
We try to stay well informed when it comes to film news, New Releases and Re-Releases and members are also able to vote for what films they want to see through our WhatsApp Group (at request), WhatsApp Channel, Telegram Group (at request) and Telegram Channel.
Whatever the time of year we do our best to always be around, come and join us for a good time.

๐ฃ PREPARING TO DROP A FILM BOMB
Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.A line that still echoes through history, and one that perfectly captures the weight of whatโs at the heart of this story.Hey Caspian here ๐ Iโm preparing to drop a bomb on you, because itโs Christopher Nolan Season, and weโre kicking things off with Oppenheimer. This is Nolanโs sweeping biographical thriller about J**. Robert Oppenheimer,** the man behind the atomic bomb, and the moral weight of the choices that changed history forever. The film is both a tense courtroom drama and a haunting meditation on power, science, and responsibility. It is shot partly in IMAX and praised for its sound design and bold storytelling but it will also leave you with more questions than answers.
So whether youโre here for the history, the performances, or just to see Nolanโs vision unfold, join me for one of the most talked-about films of the decade. It is one youโll want to experience on the big screen. Checkout the schedule below:
- 2:15 PM: We will meet at the Cineworld Empire Confectionary Bar (far end side).
- 3:00 PM: Then we're off to IMAX Screen 8. I have selected seat E22.
- 6:15 PM: We reconvene again to Review & Score the Film and the results will be posted on Letterboxd.

๐ท MAYBE THE DEFINITIVE PANDEMIC MOVIE
We move like blind sheep through the silent air. Each step apart is a prayer in fear in a hollow world. Eyes like ghosts that meet behind the glass, with hands that no longer dare. Mindless robots in a war we cannot win.Hello guys ๐ Jumping straight into things, this movie is written and directed by Ari Aster, shot by the legendary Darius Khondji and takes place in May 2020. So, Iโm guessing by now, that when it comes to pandemic-era films, most of us are done with that. However, Ari Aster is a brilliant filmmaker who I deeply respect. Heโs completely original and likes to push boundaries. Needless to say, I think this film is bound to be controversial and one that will address every aspect of what happened. Whatโs interesting about looking back is wondering: Could we have handled things differently? And asking the old question: Have we gone too far? It's Just a thought, only a thought from me.
The bottom line is, that even when we try to do the right thing, sometimes we end up in the service of the corrupt who traditionally never cared about us. I guess we shall continue to live, learn, and be hopeful. Anyway, here is the schedule for this afternoon:
- 6:30 PM: We will meet for drinks at All Bar One Leicester Square. A table will be reserved under Jonny (Upstairs).
- 7:45 PM: Then we're off to Odeon Haymarket. I have chosen seat B3.
- 10:30PM: We reconvene again to Review & Score the Film and the results will be posted on Letterboxd.
- Also don't forget that our WhatsApp Group & Telegram Group are available on request. Or alternatively you can also join our WhatsApp Channel or Telegram Channel.

๐ SOMETIMES I FEEL IโM GOING BACKWARDS
Itโs that feeling of moving yet standing still. As if no matter how high I climb or how far I go, Iโm only running in circles, still searching for something. Perhaps, in the end, weโre not meant to arrive anywhere at all, but only to learn how to live, to serve, and to love.Whatโs going on guys ๐ When you think of Stephen King, then you probably think of nightmares, but sometimes it could be about dreams, and searching for meaning. By the way, I meant every word I said above. Anyway, this film is based on one of his short stories from the If It Bleeds collection. Itโs a fantasy-drama directed by Mike Flanagan, who you might know from Oculus and Doctor Sleep, two films I still think are underrated to this day. He also directed the critically acclaimed The Haunting of Hill House, which was as emotional as it was supernatural.
This might be one of those โacquired tasteโ movies you know, the kind some people love and others donโt. But Iโve always liked them marmite films. And I think this one is worth discovering together, my friends. Iโll be back soon with the details and times for the meetup. Chat to you soon.

- โ๏ธMOVIE ROADHOUSE: LATE SUMMER SOCIAL๐ฅBFI Riverfront Bar , London
๐ฌ WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FILM THIS YEAR?
Summerโs almost over, so letโs wrap it up with great conversation, laughter, and, of course, movies! Share your favourite film of the year with stunning views over the Thames. At the London Embankment, it is as hot as the sun, and the cinema sparkles with seasons of bold adventures, hidden treasures, and stories that lift the heart and fire the imagination.Hello Again Everyone ๐ Wow, so itโs good to be back! And weโre cruising through the tail end of summer, can you believe that? The days are still warm, the evenings still golden, and the sunsets still gleaming through the trees. So, letโs talk movies, guys, because this year has been full of surprises. There were films I expected to love but didnโt, and others that caught me completely off guard in the best way. For me, two films stood out: Sinners, for its daring storytelling, and Fantastic 4: First Steps, for its pure, old-school comic-book fun. But now itโs your turn, whatโs been your favourite movie so far this year? Whether it was a summer blockbuster, a quiet indie gem, or a quirky surprise, we should get together and talk about it.
If this is your first time, weโre a super chilled and friendly crowd of Movie Fans, Creators, and Filmmakers who love movies and meeting up to talk about them. For this late summer gathering, weโll meet at the BFI Riverfront: Balcony Bar (Upstairs), overlooking Waterloo Bridge and the River Thames. The bar offers a great range of dishes and drinks, and we can relax inside or out on the balcony (and it's fully air-conditioned). Itโs the perfect spot for any film buff or filmmaker, right in the heart of the British Film Institute.
So letโs wrap up the summer in cinematic style โ with conversation, laughs, and maybe a surprise recommendation or two. Until thenโฆ may the force be with you!
