About us
👋 HELLO AND WELCOME TO MOVIE ROADHOUSE LONDON!
London’s biggest film club, built by movie fans, for movie fans. We’re a buzzing community of movie lovers, indie filmmakers, comic geeks, and creators who live and breathe cinema. From cult classics to hidden gems, big-screen blockbusters to indie passion projects, we just love getting lost in movies.
We meet regularly for screenings, grab drinks after, and rave (or rant) together on our Letterboxd Page. You’ll often find us at our BFI Riverfront Socials — always a vibe. We stay on top of film news, and our members help vote on what we watch next via WhatsApp or Telegram (unlocked after your first meetup).
We aim to support independent cinema—whether at the Prince Charles Cinema, vibrant film festivals, or the BFI. That means we often enjoy special perks, early screenings, and exciting festival trips. From film quizzes to chill pub nights, there’s always something happening.
Come hang with a bunch of awesome film fans, and pull up a seat at the Roadhouse, we’d love to have you with us. 🎬

🦋🎬 PERFECT BLUE (PLUS BONUS: IDOLS)
Victory House French Bistrot & Wine Bar, 14 Leicester Pl, London WC2H 7BZ, London, GB💠 The Dark Side of the Spotlight is when you fall under the illusion!
👋 Hey everyone! This evening is a rather special one, as we’re going to watch Satoshi Kon’s 1997 classic Perfect Blue alongside filmmaker Matt Halsall’s new short film Idols, which has recently enjoyed success at the Fantasia Festival.
Not that I'm trying to sound up myself, but Matt kindly reached out to me personally from Korea to tell me about the screening, and I’m very happy that we can support his film and make this an official get-together. Needless to say, it’s not every day we get an opportunity quite like this!
I think what makes this double bill particularly exciting is that Idols was directly inspired by Perfect Blue, so we’ll get to experience Satoshi Kon’s hugely influential psychological anime alongside Matt Halsall’s brand-new live-action film that takes some of that inspiration in its own direction. So, for film lovers, that makes this a rather fascinating pairing. You can also check out the synopses and trailers below if you wish, or simply come along and be surprised.
The Meetup: If you're into mind-bending Japanese anime spiced with some live-action Korean juice, then join us at Victory House Bar at 7:30 pm. Then after some drinks, we’ll head over to the Prince Charles Cinema for the 8:45 pm screening, where you’ll find me in seat A6 if you’d like to sit nearby.
Afterwards, we’ll reconvene at around 10:25 pm to share our thoughts, reviews and Letterboxd scores. You’ll find the full schedule breakdown, ticket information, map and addresses below, so you won't get lost.
Seems pop idol obsession can go a little too far these days, even to the point of madness. What do you think?
See you guys there!

🏔️🎬 TENZING
Picturehouse Central, 15 Great Windmill Street, Shaftesbury Ave, Piccadilly Circus, London W1D 7DH, UK, London, GB🫂 At the roof of the world, there are no masters and no servants, but a rope that binds two souls together..
👋 Hey guys! We're heading out to see Tenzing, an incredible true story based on Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary's historic climb.
The film is directed by Australian filmmaker Jennifer Peedom, who you might know from her spectacular documentary Sherpa. And, what makes this project so exciting is how it seems to handle the human element. Beyond the ice and the danger, this is a story about the ultimate test of human trust, brotherhood, and a friendship forged at 29,000 feet.
The Meetup: We'll have our usual meet and drinks at 6:30pm at the Picturehouse Central Bar on the first floor. Then after that we proceed to Kia Screen 2 where the film will be showing at 7:30 pm.
Finally at around 9:55 pm we'll get together once again to share our thoughts, discuss the film, and give it our Letterboxd scores. You’ll also find the full schedule breakdown, ticket information, map and addresses below, so you can find your way.
This is could be a beautiful reminder that at the roof of the world, there are no masters and no servants, but a rope that binds two souls together.
See you guys there!

👑🎬 THE UPRISING
Leicester Square, Leicester Square , Email us at contact@xxclusive.co.uk, London, GB🔥 A grieving farmer with nothing left to lose, who gave an entire nation the courage to stand...
👋 Hey guys! This movie actually faced quite a bit of backlash from history buffs and film critics over the way it was initially rebranded and marketed in America, particularly for trying to sell it as a story about Robin Hood, when it was anything but. Hopefully they learned a valuable lesson, because you can't take that many liberties in the name of entertainment.
This gritty historical drama from legendary director Paul Greengrass and starring Andrew Garfield follows a humble labourer devastated by the Black Death and pushed to rebellion by tyrannical taxes. What follows is an uprising of 10,000 commoners marching on London to challenge the feudal system and fight for their freedom.
The Meetup: We'll be meeting for our usual drinks before the film, and then afterwards we'll get together to share our thoughts, discuss the film, and give it our Letterboxd scores.
I'll post the final details and exact times as we get closer to the date, so please keep and eye on this page for future updates.
So let's see how much history survives the Hollywood treatment this time around! 😄
See you guys there!

🦉🎬 WILDWOOD (FILM & DISCUSSION)
Leicester Square, Leicester Square, London WC2H 7DE, UK, London, GB🌿 Don't get lost in the Impassable Wilderness...
👋 Hi everyone! We are changing gears to something a little bit different this time, as we take a look at the latest stop-motion dark fantasy film produced by LAIKA Studios..
The film is directed by Travis Knight, written by Chris Butler, and based on the 2011 fantasy novel by Colin Meloy, lead singer of The Decemberists.. The painstaking stop-motion production is fascinating as it took over four years, using 231 puppets and 136 handcrafted sets.
The film follows teenager Prue and her classmate Curtis as they launch a rescue mission into a forbidden forest after a murder of crows abducts her infant brother. There, they discover a secret, magical world caught in a brewing war, forcing them to find extraordinary courage to survive.
The Meetup: As always, we’ll meet for drinks before the film and get acquainted. Once the credits roll, we’ll hang around to discuss the movie, share our reviews, and give it our Letterboxd score. Full timings and meetup details will be added nearer the date, so check back here for updates.
So come grab a drink with us and let's follow the path beyond the boundary, without straying too far... 🌿🦉
Can't wait to see you guys there!
