What we’re about
This group is for ladies in their 30s (plus or minus a few years is ok, ~27-43) looking for authentic friendships with some really cool yet nerdy women. Some of us may be new to town, or maybe we're just realizing we need some more awesome, genuine friendships in our lives. You might be more inclined to enjoy some wine and a good book rather than go out. You might enjoy deep conversation over tea more than a night at a dance club. If this sounds like you, you might have hit the jackpot!
We try new restaurants, play games, watch movies, craft together, check out the arts and entertainment, explore the Denver area, and much more. Our events seldom have more than 12 people present, because small groups make for better conversations and connections. If you have ideas or would like to host an event, please email an organizer! Let's make this fun and keep it interesting.
Events take place throughout the Denver metro area, including the surrounding towns of Aurora, Lakewood, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Cherry Creek and more.
Your Hobbies/Interests may include: NPR, knitting, crocheting, quilting, tea and coffee, thoughtful, engaging conversations, learning, cooking, gardening, books, post-graduate studies, exploring nature...
You may describe yourself as: introverted, funny, cerebral, unique, intelligent, fun-loving, genuine...
You might like: movies, food, teahouses, art, book clubs, crafting, game or trivia nights, other cool/nerdy ladies...
Nerdy 30s Ladies of Denver is part of a large network of sister cities around the world!
The only real "rule" is that you be accountable. Show up to events you RSVP for, or give your host a (timely) heads-up that your plans have changed. "No-shows" (i.e. not showing up at an event you've RSVP'd "YES" to) create extra work for our hosts, limit others from potentially participating in events, and are a disappointment to those who have spent their time and energy planning these events. To summarize: no-shows are a bummer and will not be tolerated (i.e. more than 2 "no-shows" could result in removal from the group). So, please be courteous, keep your RSVP's updated, and everyone is happy!

- TRIVIA!!! Geeks Who Drink at Wild Corgi - CAP HILLWild Corgi Pub, Denver, CO
Month 2 of trivia! We're on a roll! Join me for a night of trivia hosted by 'Geeks Who Drink' at Wild Corgi! Wild corgi has great food and drinks, check out the menu below. Geeks who drink puts on an awesome trivia night!
I've got a total of 6 spots, and I'm bringing 2 trivia friends along with. There is usually a $12 reservation charge per person that goes towards the bill/tip to make sure everyone shows up. This trivia night typically sells out. I talked to the manager and he's going to waive that fee for us (it's really hard for me to coordinate fees/tickets). Since he's offer us this courtesy, please make sure to keep your attendance up to date, and if you're on the wait list check in keep an eye on it. I'd love to make this a monthly event, so please work with me to make sure we fill all 6 seats :)
Fair warning, I'm not a trivia master, but I love a trivia night and have had some great ones with the Nerdy 30s group! It's such a fun way to get to know people as we debate what the title of panic at the disco's first album was (its 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out')
- Book Club - The House in the Cerulean SeaCoark Collective Food Hall, Centennial, CO
Starting out 2024 with a book club meet for ‘The House in the Cerulean Sea’ by TJ Klune. Meeting place will be the Cork Collective on Parker and Arapahoe.
Here is a summary:
A magical island. A dangerous task. A burning secret.
Linus Baker leads a quiet, solitary life. At forty, he lives in a tiny house with a devious cat and his old records. As a Case Worker at the Department in Charge Of Magical Youth, he spends his days overseeing the well-being of children in government-sanctioned orphanages.
When Linus is unexpectedly summoned by Extremely Upper Management he's given a curious and highly classified assignment: travel to Marsyas Island Orphanage, where six dangerous children reside: a gnome, a sprite, a wyvern, an unidentifiable green blob, a were-Pomeranian, and the Antichrist. Linus must set aside his fears and determine whether or not they’re likely to bring about the end of days.
But the children aren’t the only secret the island keeps. Their caretaker is the charming and enigmatic Arthur Parnassus, who will do anything to keep his wards safe. As Arthur and Linus grow closer, long-held secrets are exposed, and Linus must make a choice: destroy a home or watch the world burn.
An enchanting story, masterfully told, The House in the Cerulean Sea is about the profound experience of discovering an unlikely family in an unexpected place―and realizing that family is yours.
