Sewing 101b: Intro to Machine Sewing + Yoga Bag workshop

Intro to sewing and to our sewing room. If you have a domestic machine and have been having trouble getting started on it, bring it to the class.
Learn how to use a conventional/domestic sewing machine:
- wind a bobbin
- thread the machine
- sew a straight seam and a curved seam
- anchor stitches
- cut fabric using a scissors and a rotary cutter
- change a needle
- change presser feet

At the end of class there will be an option to attend a workshop on how to sew ones own yoga bag. These will included inserting a zipper. There will be a materials fee of 10.00 for that workshop that will be collected then if you chose to attend.
Suggested donation of $20.00 for class to benefit Noisebridge. There is a sliding scale for those in need, contact host for information on a promo code. If you are donating in cash use the code 'CashMike.' The workshop will have a 10.00 materials fee collected at class time. Additional donations to support Noisebridge gladly accepted. A portion of funds donated may go to teacher retention.
Note accessibility issues: The sewing room is on the 2nd floor. If you will have trouble making it to that location or if you will have difficulty using a foot pedal or if you have hearing challenges, please contact the organizer at least 24 hours before the class.
